The fact that the Terrifier 3 was not submitted to get a rating through the MPA is in itself a political stance. We know damn well the movie would’ve been NC-17 for its extreme violence, thus limiting what theaters would’ve shown it aka censorship. This is really not a hard concept to grasp. Leone can say all he wants about not wanting his films to be political. But he would just be flat out wrong. The only reason he can keep making these movies is because of the push horror films had to make throughout the decades and the US getting rid of the Hayes Code.

This is my personal opinion, but if they re cast Art the Clown i wont be watching the 4th movie. A big big reason why Art is soo popular is because of all the amazing work David Howard Thornton did with the character to make it his own. Just because Damien chose to say neutral and not be open about what political views he supports doesn’t mean he’s wrong in any way. I think he just understands that if he’s open about supporting one set of views, he’s gonna upset people who have different views which will make them not want to see his movies. I feel like that’s something that most actors and filmmakers should understand when being open about their politics.
