This was exactly what I was expecting when we called you for help!! None of the dogs are bad. Like you said, they're actually quite well trained, but the situation just got ahead of us with the conflict between the dogs and our response to separate them, clearly provided a chance for things to get even more intense! You have explained and showed us ways to work with them, that we can actually do ourselves to get to the desired outcome!! So invaluable! I would have you again in a second! Thank you again!!! Hope to send you a peaceful follow up soon! They are already responding to the training and improvement is evident!! 😁

This was a great experience. I'm glad you're seeing improvements. Very Beautiful dogs, they really are great dogs. The Pomski clearly has a lot of trust and patience to be able to sit in the middle like that and not be reactive. The first Akita is very well behaved and I feel if you can break through with him first the second one will also follow suit. Love the second Akita being vocal but he was also participating well. Best of luck

Out of 5 Akitas I could say I only could trust 1 Akita around other dogs. They are the most Stubborn breed, powerful, terroritorial. And they change on a dime. All training needs to be done immediately. All my Akitas weighed over a 120 to 145lbs. These dogs do not need to much exercise because they're not supposed to breath like other dogs. Although my dogs were trained. I wouldn't trust 4 of them alone with any small dogs without being there. Food aggression is 1 problem with them too. I have had to bring my dogs to the vet to many time for stitches. I and my husband have been bitten to the bone trying to break them up. And as you might know Dr's do not like to stitch dog bites due to infection. They are beautiful protective dogs. But I would not advise families with young children on getting one.

Akitas are great with small children, one of the best breeds to be around kids if you bring them into the family as pups. The problem are owners that want more than one Akita at home. At best you can have a male and a female, but nothing more.

I just know what dogs I have at hand by being able to read their body language correctly. Altho Akitas are a very dominant breed, and these 2 are no exception. They have a lot of training and a responsible owner that started training them from a young age, and socialized them. The issue with the Pomsky is mostly their only issue that the owners couldn’t figure out how to solve. I know how far I can go with each dog without getting bit. One little mistake could end up very badly.

He has done this since he has been very young, I think dog's have been his life and Best friends. It's been that way with me too. You can see who's the problem in the pack. And Akitas are a Chinese fighting Dogs, they're very smart. If a Rottweiler and a Akita would fight the Rottie has no chance against these beautiful Dogs. Socializing is a key to any Dog large or small.

This episode was super helpful to me. I a 50-year-old disabled woman rescued a couple dogs several years ago and one of them a little Jack Russell Yorkie is very aggressive towards any sounds anything that moves quickly people babies toddlers other animals. Just everything. Especially like skateboards or the golf carts at my apartments that the maintenance travel around on. Super aggressive she will literally try to attack and bite. I've been watching your videos for several months now and trying to employ a lot of the instructions you're giving and now that I'm actually living downstairs and can walk again some days and start working with her she's responding rather quickly. She is very aggressive still but that sensitive spot where the back legs is I started touching that and she's responding very very quickly now. Crossing fingers that it just gets better and better the more I'm able to get out and work with her. I have noticed anytime I end up in the hospital whether it's for a night or for a week the dogs become extremely aggressive again for the next week. Anyone who comes to my apartment will trigger the dogs to start being very aggressive again anytime I take them outside to go potty. Any noise that they hear from inside the apartment whether it's the upstairs neighbors or somebody getting ready to walk up the stairwell will send the dogs into a barking frenzy where they're just ready to attack anybody who comes nearby other than myself. This is especially problematic because the emergency workers sometimes have to come in to help me and transport me to the hospital and I have to be able to lock my dogs up beforehand but yet recently I ended up in the hospital with heart heart attack heart failure etc. It ended up not being a heart attack but other heart problems but it's this sort of thing that occurs and in those moments I may not be able to lock the dogs up and if somebody comes in my house to save me I'm afraid she's going to attack them because she will try if she can to bite them.

Also it's the location of the Akita's toys! Notice the first thing they go for is making sure they are showing the Pom that "they are their toys ..and you are not going to have them" essentially if they move the toys away from the fence separating the Pom and Akias's to a further location. If they react the same over the toys with the Pom no matter where they put them ..then training needs to be specifically over breaking the control issues over the toys😊

This is absolutely untrue as shown by this video. They are fine with the small dogs. The guy at Asher house has an Akita who plays with all the dogs. If your dog is bad and not social it’s on you. You are supposed to train these breeds consistently everyday from day one. It’s sad you are depriving your dog of playmates and socialization because you think you know a breed and you don’t. My Akita loves my two cats and two dogs and is great everywhere I take him.

Fantastic job! Interesting how they were still trying to take him to dog parks at 9months.. I wish more people knew that with this breed dog parks aren't a good idea even as puppies, and that socialization (not encounters or playdates) should be thought about before owning one. Also owning 2 male Akitas is already highly suggested against, and then adding a new intact male on top of that? yikes. Glad they're tackling this now.

Keep the dogs separate unless you want a dead little dog. You cannot over ride the dominance genetics and biology in American Akitas. If you let these dogs share space, that little dog will do something to trigger the Akitas and you will come downstairs and find a bloody corpse one morning. One bite and one shake and that dog is dead. Only a fool would allow American Akitas to be in proximity to other dogs as they will not tolerate other same sexed dogs and it has nothing to do with training or socialization. All training does is take the edge off these dogs, you cannot eliminate their prey drive or fighting instincts. Don't get American Akitas if you want to own more than one female and male dog. You will never see them attack - it will happen so fast as in 1 second that you could not stop these dogs from killing that other dog even if you were standing right next to the Akitas. Akitas are war dogs and don't ever forget it and try to act they are just any old dog that will tolerate another dog. Only a damn fool thinks you can train American Akitas to accept new animals or coexist with another same sexed dog. Akitas are notorious for not co-existing with other same sexed dogs. The minute you turn your back on these dogs, the little dog will become prey and an annoyance. Keep the gates and do not risk that little dog's life. Clueless delusional owners like this are people who surrender Akitas to shelters because they don't have a damn clue about the breed. These are bear hunting coyote killing personal protection dogs of the first order and you want them to act like a pack dog beagle. It ain't going to happen. They will kill that little dog the minute you think they are trained because Akitas are like big cats with extreme predatory drives and hpyer-territoriality. Training cannot eliminate such traits and only take the edge off.

I was looking for someone in the comments that has common sense. That little dog will never make it to old age in the same house. You cannot stop mother nature.
@rf8481
@rf8481 2 жыл бұрын
@@destinyschild8515 It is not common sense, it is reality -plain and simple, Once an American Akita takes a dislike to another dog or coyote or possum or rabbit or racoon, it is not going to ignore the other dog or animal in it's space. American Akitas are lethal killing machines when clueless owners pretend they are not really American Akitas but some less aggressive or territorial breed. The biological expression of what is 40 plus generations of genetic selection is what makes a dog behave the way it does. It cannot be overwritten or eliminated with a treat and a pat on the head and a kind word. You might as well have a lion for a house cat and expect it not to act like a lion when it sees a deer in the yard. Instincts (or fixed action pattern behaviors) are hard wired like the fear of snakes and spiders is in most humans. No one teaches people to be afraid of snakes today but yet most people are. Yet these same people think you can overcome centuries of breeding for aggression (hunting, fighting protection) with some dime store animal trainer. How many Ceasar Milan episodes did you ever see when the dogs were America Akitas? it is not that these dogs are dangerous, they are not when handled and managed appropriately, but these are not dogs that will welcome a strange same sex dog - rather they are very likely to react violently and explosively to any provocation from a strange dog in their exclusive space. These dogs are trying to warn the dog and the owners to get the little dog out of harm's way but the owners are just hopelessly clueless about what an American Akita dog's nature is supposed to be.

Two adult Akitas… owners should really know better, you can’t just be there 24/7, and you can’t just keep adding dogs to your household because you like them while owning adult Akitas. For that little pup’s sake I hope they don’t have to learn the hard way. You can easily sense how volatile the situation is. The slightest bad move by the little guy will trigger those Akitas.
