Make sure you guys follow on instagram for updates @ / thedogdaddyofficial
Working with highly excited/ reactive dogs, require you to really understand dogs and know how to get their attention. The owners you have seen in my videos have already tried all the common suggestions of using treats and passive training methods with no success. So what you see in my videos was their last resort and it works like magic.

What I’ve learned from dog daddy, is every dog needs a LEADER and Boundaries! With these 2 things, the majority of the issues would resolve themselves.
@MaksymMinenko
@MaksymMinenko Жыл бұрын
It's not exactly that way. Some dogs are great leaders (they don't exactly need one). What dogs really need is *to understand who* is the leader. And if they don't see one (most dogs owners are too weak-willed for that) they feel the need to become one.
@jessicagray3055

It can seem harsh but if you watch videos of wolf pack, there is an alpha that keeps the dogs in order. The alpha will snap at dogs acting too chaotic, to break up fights between the dogs and to establish respect. The difference between the alpha and the just an overly assertive bully dog is fairness. The alpha is fair. The dogs understand when you’re being fair, you correct the bad behaviours and give them positive reinforcement when we’ll behaved. Dogs can’t talk, they live with energy and body language. I think people humanise dogs too much and need to realise that the dogs need a leader, and in exchange for love, food and attention the dogs needs to behave in a respectable manner. It’s good for us and them.

I have a group training session in June 2023 with Dog Daddy. I can't wait. I rescued a west German working line/Siegar pup and her owner who couldn't keep her. I grew up with dogs, raised rotties, but this GS pup is high energy, highly energetic, and a wrecking ball. Lol. Beautiful pup with so much potential. I accepted the pup because I did not want the pup to end up with the wrong family or owner. You really need to be like these dog parents. Committed to loving and raising happy confident dogs. That takes time and energy. Money as well. But in the end the dogs are worth it.
@Tonisuperfly

How did the training go? How is your high energy dog doing now?
@hawnma8083
@hawnma8083 Жыл бұрын
@Tonisuperfly I was able to handle her better on her leash and able to understand from dog daddy that gsd are highly reactive to everything. So handling her on the leash was priority so I could move to off leash training which was my goal. I had 3ckonths to work with my pup and used his videos to help. I was able to stop the aggressive behavior toward my rottie and other dogs in a matter of a couple days. I started with a slip collar. But I now use a prong on her which helps tremendously. Dog daddy help me choose a prong for my pup. Watching him handle the other dogs and knowing g their issues helped as well. Knowledge is power. I didn't have to pay thousands nor spend excessive time on things I could knew I could help my pup with. No boundaries, no limitations, and lack of socializing. Took time and patience. To get rid of the bad habits. She's a pup and her energy is thru the roof. So consistent love n guidance. But she is 100% better than when I got her.

People need to learn that the chaos is NOT FUN for the dog. But when it’s all they know, it’s all they do! I have a very well trained dog, and it never fails during walks, we encounter chaotic yappers…and Sasha will look at them, with pity, as we silently walk on by! 🐾

#truth My Luna does the same thing when we walk out to the mailbox, my 2 neighbors dogs (4 in total) are raising hell. Luna looks at them like who are they barking at. That’s because when we got her we did not allow that foolishness. When people come in our home, she is sent to her place. She is a covid puppy so people were not coming to our house for a while. Now she’s getting use to to seeing more people. She will still try me and will try to rush the door and I send her right to her place. Good for you for training your dog!!!

I would say it's more that they lacked structure. They were not calm and happy; they were out of control. It's similar with parenting. When kids know the boundaries, they can feel safe and calm.
@kylasbibi
@kylasbibi 2 жыл бұрын
I think it’s a little of both. The dogs are whining because of anxiety in they are not allowed to do what they usually do. Not only are they whining but they are also yawning which is a way dogs release stress. These dogs lack structure and leadership. Also, I hope those dogs are getting sufficient exercise. That will also help the stress. Structured walks, starting with how the dogs are allowed to go out the door, will also teach self control.

I have an 8 mo old GP, who now weighs more than 1/2 my weight. She likes to launch herself off of the bottom step, I find tightening up on her leash and making her walk directly behind me down the steps, keeps her from doing this (body blocking). Also, when walking her and she starts pulling me, I pull back and tell her slow works. It's just the distracting outside cats are still a problem, but getting better.

Why oh why do these people buy dogs when they ( the owners) have no realistic idea of how to control and care for one dog ...let alone two ...or three?

Because you can’t just be born knowing how to train a dog. So what you’re saying is that you should only get a dog if you already know how to train one? That is literally the dumbest thing I have heard in my life.

@@Raine-97 it’s actually not dumb. Breeds like German shepherds need an owner with some sort of knowledge of the breed and what they need. The shelter near me is full of purebred German shepherds because the owners couldn’t figure out how to control them. Now, perfectly wonderful dogs are at risk of being euthanized, bc idiot people bought a dog for looks or because they saw it in a movie.

I don’t think they are ‘spoiled brats’. If they were they would never stop. They are simply untrained. They need to be shown boundaries, or what behavior is expected. Just like children, dogs are more secure when they know the rules.

It is very difficult to hear you. Dogs whine and you speak too fast without a microphone near by.

I don't think he's just trying to give a friendly point out. Because sometimes I have to remind a few times to hear over the dogs. I know that's just part of the challenge of live recording, but with a Bluetooth mic it could help make it easier to hear him. I love what he's doing and I don't want to miss a thing. Hope everyone is learning as much-needed information as I am.

All you’re learning is how to make your dogs fearful of strangers, and how to teach your puppy that their crate is no longer a safe place. Be better- do your research and find someone local who doesn’t try to teach a pup not to bark in their crate by reaching in there and sharply jabbing the pup in the sensitive area of their flank that’s the equivalent of our waistline. Contrary to what he says to the owners, that move doesn’t “…just tickle a little…”-it’s painful and is a good way to teach a dog to bite when someone’s hand moves toward them unexpectedly.

@@phyllisrayca978 You sound ignorant. If you actually have something helpful to say, say it because all you did was say go to someone else…like who…? Someone like you? Lol. There was no actual help or wisdom in your words. So do us all a favor and keep your empty words to yourself.
