Congratulations on the collaboration with Canves Cutter⛺️. Their products are second to none. It ain't backpack gear but it's a cowboy's dream when you must spend the night under the ?stars⛈️😳. That's some awesome, beautiful country, but it sure is gnarly looking. You'll do good running cattle in there. Towards the end of the video showing a healthy herd with calves and healthy families with young children, it looks like 1880 Drifters are headed onwards and upwards into the future. Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👏👏🇺🇲

It's a long night when you are between 2 blue poly tarps in a steady rain I have done that a few times. Think of how tough the guys were that stayed out in that country in the old days for months at a time. Buster Welch said when he was young and out with the wagon they discouraged heavy bedrooms and he admired the old guys who would get up with the cook. Later he realized they got up because their hips hurt so much. Lol I understand that 😅

Another great video very productive week for sure i noticed a couple of times the cows and calves were walking pretty close to the canyon edge have you ever had a calf get spooked and fall over the edge
@pattybryd72287 ай бұрын
I wondered that too.
@shawnjack80927 ай бұрын
Hi Ronald, thanks so much for your support. I tell you what, that edge scares me to death!!! We have not had anything fall off that I know of, but I am sure it could happen anytime. When I was riding along that edge, my heart was in my throat. Have a great week, see ya next Sunday.

I know many methods of branding calves but was wondering why you don't l hold the heels horseback instead of man handling them I'll
@shawnjack80927 ай бұрын
Hi, we have several different methods we use, When we have lots of help, we do this way to keep everyone involved. We are also moving through the calves fast and so the ropers just keep moving. When we have a small crew we do hold the heals to make it easier on everyone. But to be honest, sometimes we throw some slack in the rope just to liven things up a bit and keep everyone on their toes.!!!! it is kind of fun sometimes to have good wrestling match. Thanks for watching.

Do you guys Raise your own horses to use on the Ranch? What is the name of your Ranch there in SE Utah? Where is the closest town to you guys? What breed of cattle do you guys raise? Pretty country there in SE Utah. Do you guys ware Resistol cowboy hats?
@shawnjack80927 ай бұрын
Hi Ty, yes we do raise most of our horses. We use to have brood mares, but sold them to Black Diamond Ranch, Kenny Black. We buy babies from Him and we also buy babies from Pitzer Ranch. We love our horses. There are two ranches One is called Black Diamond and the other is called Triangle Bar. Blanding and Bluff are the closest towns to the ranch, we live in Blanding. We actually get our hats from a custom Hat shop in Grand Junction Colorado. They are great and always treat us good, so we keep going back. Thanks for watching

I have a question about the cow that was "not " clean. what does that mean? I have an idea please let me know if I'm right, She was pregnant lost the baby and then didn't abort the fetus and it rotted and got infected, am I anywhere close to being right. I don't know the cowboy lingo but I'm tryin'. Thankyou.
