Its actually not that sad it's kinda happy and you know what? The caretaker wanted you to feel this way because old people have dementia so the song make you have dementia so you put yourself in their shoes. And how you should treat them. It gives me that uncertain feeling of cleaning up after a big party. My mind will be on "did we check everything" mode the rest of the night to make sure everything is clean as well as not leaving anything important behind. Yeah... it’s like I had a dream where I took a day trip with my youth group when I was in middle school, and our youth pastor led us through a hotel because we had to get somewhere... and this was one of the hotel’s ballrooms we passed through or walked past. The carpet in particular stands out in my memory. Maybe somewhere in Duluth?
@ViktorTheMusician4 жыл бұрын
@@kathrynmyrick1739 oh god, speaking about dreams I had a dream recently actually about cleaning up after a party. While our parents cleaned the ballroom area we went into this little study den area with book shelves and a fireplace and started cleaning a bit. Eventually we found a box of toys and we pulled some out and they were these weird big puppet/doll things (sort of like what Woody is but maybe 2 or 3 times bigger). We pulled the strings and they started singing some old song (like a TV theme song or something) and synced up together and I just became overcome with this weird sad nostalgic feeling, because I was sure these singing dolls used to be huge when I was a kid and seeing them again made me realize everyone had forgotten them. I've never seen any doll like this in real life but man, the feeling was super real and eerie.

The silence except for the small pitter-pattering of cat paws and the ice machine shuddering in the fridge was all I could hear as I looked at the christmas tree, the shimmering presents and the glimmering ornaments, I would shake the presents and wake my brother, us both too excited to sleep. Oh wow, wow. I don’t know what it is about this playlist that gets me. I’ve recently discovered this channel and I couldn’t be happier. These songs, especially those piano ones, leave me with this really strange feeling of wonky nostalgia, as if I have been afraid of something or on edge (in what feels like a past life, if I’m honest), but I’m now comfortable, and safe, and warm. It’s a really weird deep feeling in my heart, like pride, but less about myself and more for everything around me. Maybe it has awakened a new love for life in me. It reminds me of when I went to an immersive art exhibition and I came out feeling incredibly renewed and refreshed. I can’t really explain it, but I love it. I’ve really rambled, but I felt like my words needed to be finalised somewhere. I’ve never really felt anything from looking at liminal spaces, but I can suppose it’s something like how the music has made me feel. Thank you so much.

I actually didn't know about the caretaker until this video, and I've now read all bout him and have learned to appreciate his work from a different perspective. I looked him up because I saw a lot of people talking about him in the comments and got curious, after reading all about his story I felt both empty and full; empty because his story truly sucks the joy out of you, the progression of his music and the inevitability of losing himself in it, but full because I've learned about a new and inspiring artist with a fresh concept and visual on things. Thank you for introducing me to him :)

what 11:55 feels like (in my personal opinion) sitting on a cliff, looking out at the stars that reflect off of the ocean. you cry, your heart has just been broken. suddenly you feel the wind push you over the edge and you give into the feeling of falling and close your eyes. but something grabs you by the hand and lifts you into the starry sky. you look to see what it could be but all you see is the silhouette, but you can't quite make out the gender. but you can hardly think of that before the silhouette quickly throws you to the side. you close your eyes as you brace for impact, but when you feel nothing you open your eyes and are suddenly in a christmas-like decorated town. the silhouette takes you by the hand once again and you both walk through this winter wonderland as they finally speak and start telling you stories of the town. each one has an underlying tone of dread. near the end of the tour and many tales, you and the silhouette enter a building resembling and ball room from a castle and suddenly you're dressed like royalty. the silhouette asks you for a dance, but you don't actually have a choice. they pull you onto the ballroom floor and you get into dancing position, and start to compliment you on how you look in the slightly dimmed light from the chandeliers above. the silhouette bows to you as you finish the dance and mutters something you don't quite hear and you black out. you wake up in the same spot on the top of the cliff you started at, conflicted in your heart. next to you is a note that says "remember this." and walk home... feeling better about your previous heart break. just then you see the silhouette out of the corner of your eye, but when you look in that direction they're gone. you pause for a moment and smile.

Hey, awesome playlist. This inspired me to write- She walked through the room in silence, the door slowly closing behind her. This was the second time she’d been here, and this time she would stay here forever. The room was vast and still. Even over the distant sound of a radio, you could hear a pin drop. Wait. Radio; she could hear it playing, faint but distinct Where was it coming from? The building she was in was large, yes, but surely she was alone. For this wasn’t any ordinary building, she had made it all up. Every pillar and chair, every painting on the wall, every scratch on the furniture- it had all come from her mind. But this disturbance was not something she had conjured up; so why was it here? She closed her eyes; tightly. Trying to pin-point the origin of the sound. Shuffling her feet across the carpet, she blindly but surely moved toward the sound; and stopped. She opened her eyes and jolted back. It was a tall, dark door which stood over 13 feet tall. Much taller than she had made the ceilings, which were twisted and warped, trying to accommodate for the unnaturally tall door. This door wasn’t supposed to be there either. Looking down at the carpet below her feet, she clenched her teeth and held her head. She was panicking; “Oh god, it’s diseased!” she almost yelled. She could feel something- something unnatural- flowing into her mind, weaving its way into her core, like a worm. Suddenly she felt a change, and she didn’t want to look up. A sliver of light slid across the carpet. The door was opening. She lifted a hand to stop it. “Doors don’t open on their own.” she scowled. The opening was only a couple of inches, but she managed to squeeze through; determined not to give the disobedient gap another centimeter. She stepped to the other side, and there was nothing; complete and utter nothingness. She hadn’t created this part of the building, it was a blank canvas. Something which was hard to find in the vast halls of her thoughts, and only existed in the dark corners of her mind. She watched as the blank walls were painted a deep crimson, as black letters were inscribed into tapestries, and as roses of dark and scarlet grew from white pedestals. The empty room built itself around her, quickly and without sound. Corners to corners, ends to ends, curtains hung and trim, door frames tall and sturdy, and pools of carpet, brown and cream below her feet.

jesus christ I just found this video and clicked on a whim trying to find something to distract myself with, covid has been pretty hard and ive become so isolated, I was going through some shit but idk why, this video makes me so happy, I remember being at church and sitting in the huge auditorium alone, and it was so sad but happy, this video really helps me and im glad you thought to make it. Thank you.

So far I'm loving this, it's hard to find music like this, it's nice and relaxing. Not pounding my ear drums or be so dull, it has this sort of life to it. Life of something that's cozy, like in a wave or a cool breeze in a hot summer day, something to enjoy and savor. It's beautiful, thank you for sharing this!

I was gonna say these don’t sound like what liminal spaces feel like to me, but they sure are nice songs... But I didn’t read what songs are in this and then the caretaker started playing i froze...I had to skip immediately...don’t think anybody believes me when I say I got ptsd from that shit.

hey, i hope youre feeling much better after listening to the caretaker. its very much believable that you can get traumatized from music, especially if its the caretaker. stay safe out there

This creation is absolutely brilliant! Tops! Spot on....exactly as a visual artist would use paint, you've captured the ambiance --even the essential con-structural elements of the senses-- in sound. Since you are the artist, no other person could instruct you which sounds to employ in your next projects except for a certain place -- in time and space--.... I was thinking of an amusement park or circus, a doll hospital, and then an acting theatre. Keep on with your projects-- they are greatly inspiring.

Most of these are bang on Liminal space sounds ~ Walking into a memory of a time forgotten .... familiar, nostalgic but lonely, a little eerie and you know .... you can't stay here so you already miss it. Some of the others not so much. Is there a full track list? Good job and id love to see more of these =)

I'm glad that Kikuo made it into this playlist! Kikuo's songs always make me feel so dizzy, but in a good way. Like i'm levitating out of reality or something. lol I also love how you included Hypno K.K. I was playing Animal Crossing City Folk/Let's Go To The City while listening to this so it made everything just extra eerie because it's a rather old game.
@usagifuyusummer61244 жыл бұрын
Holy shit, this list was calming to hear at first but then it got terrifying slowly lol. I was left scared during the last parts. But, hey, Kikuo's in here, the master of making songs that can scare the shit out of you, love that guy. Thanks for the experience. I don't know if I would hear it again though, but thanks nonetheless.

I never even got to the end of The Caretaker album. I read all the comments saying they were physically taken aback when A Burning Memory came on. I thought those were totally valid responses, but I never expected to feel the exact same when it started. My pulse shot through the roof. My breathing is ragged. It hurts typing this, and I can feel the words struggling to make it through. The song is still playing. I want it to stop, but I don't want it to stop because I know what *should* follow. This is a piece that can't be taken as anything but a part of a larger, Such a larger whole.

I got this recommended and didn't know what to expect, but honestly this is kind of helpful right now. My life feels kinda empty at the moment and with the pandemic going on I feel very lonely. My friends rarely respond to my messages nowadays and I sit there, waiting for a text back. Hours are passing and I'm just switching from one app to the other, waiting for someone to talk to me. But this feels nice, like a space where I can be myself and even reading or rambling in the comments makes me feel a little lighter. Like the world is not so heavy anymore.
