There are many mean comments here regarding Alistair "coming back to fight a croc". Looks like filming crew depicted it completely worng. Alistair literally said : "I pedaled into the inland, as my feet touched the ground I looked up , up 2 - 3 yards away there was this crocodile." Meaning that he still was in the water, but his feet could finally reach the ground underwater and why he was able to stand and spot a croc about 2.5 meters away(thats terrifying how close), which makes perfect sense why he did what he did in this situation. But Narrator fucked it up by claming he reached the shore. He didn't and never said so. Otherwise he wouldnt dive back in the water. It's absurd. It definetly was a missunderstading from production part. upvote this people.

I mean, with that context I can understand in an extremely tense and stressful situation (where you have little time to think), He decided fight, instead of flight. But what he should've done is back away slowly without disturbing the water. Croc may have left him alone, maybe not, but he the croc would've been less likely to attack had he just backed away slowly. But yeah, unless you've been face to face with an apex predator like that... who knows how you'd react. Would your mind even be capable of reasonable choices in that situation, or would your instincts completely override your decision making abilities? Easy to judge this man in the comfort of your own home.

I lived in Zimbabwe most of my life. It was the first thing you learnt going to Lake Kariba was hippo are very territorial and dangerous especially when they have babies in a nursery in the water. I grew up on a river. A few things to remember if you're in trouble and trying to swim to shore. Body float with your feet ahead of you. Lean into the current. When you need to swim, do it parallel with the beach. The current should take you close enough. Whatever you do, don't fight the current. Work with it.

Such an interesting reaction whenever someone gives praise to God or His Son Jesus Christ for delivering people and sparing their lives. Someone else will almost certainly attack them for believing the way they do. This doesn't happen when others express belief in any number of false religions and/or false gods. Only when someone expresses belief in the living God of the Bible. The Creator. Satan doesn't want us to put our faith in the living God, because we would then escape the fate that awaits him. I will proudly claim that I serve God Almighty and His Son Jesus Christ. I don't get upset when I am ridiculed for doing so. Those who ridicule me can go on enjoying the free will He has given them, but be prepared to give account when they stand before Him. That will be the point where free will ends.

People feel entitled. The local fishermen have to do it because it's their livelihood, otherwise they would starve to death. Random people going out without any experience are asking for trouble. The thrill can turn into a live or die situation within a matter of seconds, as seen here. There were a bunch of kayakers going through a Congo river in a formation of four. Experienced too. A croc flipped one of the kayakers and he was never to be seen again. Guess experience doesn't bring in common sense. People really take nature lightly.

Ok, so if god had the omnipresence to intervene… why did he allow it to happen in the first place? Is it not enough to rely on scientific explanations?

@2girls 1cup almost. Lol. He’s so crazy, and sometimes I think I see loopholes in his words… and I sometimes think “wow. My morals are actually higher than his,” but then I remember my upbringing, and how my parents, and the dude at church, and everyone else in my congregation told me the superhero and his son are legit, so I breath a sigh of relief, and turn my brain back off. I mean… it’s so much more comfortable to think he has my back than to think I’m alone. How scary.

@2girls 1cup it’s like when tragedy befalls someone… like those indeed i me survival stories of people marooned on islands, or lost in jungles… the getting fucked in the first place was part of his plan, just as the successful rescue efforts. The friends they lost along the way? Part of god’s plan for them specifically. We’re not arrogant. We can’t pretend to know his will. Lol.

Are buffalo carnivorous with their olfactory sense tuned in to blood 🤔?
@mupesac6457

@@InfiniteEchos Its a possibility. ''Blood molecule attracts predators and warns prey - including humans... Researchers at Karolinska Institutet have identified an evolutionarily preserved scent molecule in mammalian blood that attracts predators and repels prey. In the study, published in Scientific Reports, they also report that humans exposed to the smell become stressed and react to it as if they were prey. Most animals use their sense of smell to find partners, hunt for food and detect danger...." Karolinska Institutet Published: 2017-10-20 11:00

It's clear they did not know the danger they were going to potentially face by choosing that particular spot to fish. And I think they made the right choice, in this situation to stand on the sand bank rather than face crocodiles. Alistair is amazing to power through with such a severe injury. Thankful they survived and this is a hard lesson learned.

As a person who lives in South Africa, I know very well how dangerous hippos are and I wouldn't have risked going in the river in the first place. Hippos are pretty much as dangerous as sharks.
@Metroheathyy

If anything more dangerous. They flips boats as seen on here. And if u make it out the water they can follow u there too. And those huge tusks for teeth just take one blow to take u out immediately or at least have u bleeding out eventually. But sharks are still very dangerous don’t get me wrong.
