Terry Hall has always come across as a genuine person.

Terry Hall, may he Rest in Peace, is very funny. Ian Svenonious is playing a part but being out-cheeked by a master, and that’s exactly what we are here to see, and it’s brilliant.

@@julieeales And there you go assuming things. I can assure you I do know what Terry Hall went through. I have been a fan of Terry's as long as I can remember. Laughing and falling off his chair is something he would never have done that's why I typed the comment. Jesus! People make such a big deal about things these days it is embarrassing. You really can't say anything anymore without somebody climbing on their high horse to tell you off. It was a fuckin joke. Don't even think about comparing our knowledge on Terry Hall. You will loose!

Excruciating. Why didn't Terry just walk out? That beats the last 'worst ever' interview I've seen by a long margin.

This interview is difficult for me to watch. Terry Hall is clearly unwell here, and the interviewer’s sarcasm and hipster irony seem almost abusive. It’s teetering on the edge of bullying and mocking an individual who is sensitive and vulnerable as a result of recent mental illness issues. This interviewer is a shameful and tactless doofus.

The interviewer, as some have already pointed out, does come through as being extremely pretentious......a "try hard" hipster and an arty wanker. Terry obviously knows this and tries to cut him down to size with his sarcasm and dry wit.......I don't think he gets it though. In a way this interview is kind of representative of the chasm that exists between American and English culture and Popular Music. American 'music types' tend to look at UK bands like The Specials & The Pistols with awe and dumbfounded wonderment whilst the bands themselves have a very down to earth and natural attitude, Politics, ethnic tensions, class differences, violence etc.....have played a large role in both British society and music. This is something Americans don't "get" and is not reflected in their Pop culture. America is a violent country but it's misdirected violence or violence without a cause, in most cases anyway.

I just realized the interviewer is Ian Svenonius of The Make Up and Nation Of Ulysses, now doing this sort of thing. He always was a bit earnest and pretentious and I was never sure if it was an act- Nation Of Ulysses had manifestos and it all seemed so serious and pompous. But wow, there couldn't be more of a clash of personalities. I prefer Terry's manner and personality, for sure!

Yeah right we all missed the joke ...that guy doing the Interview is ian Svenonius - the lead singer of the Nation of Ulyses ( to name one of the bands ) which was probably a stand alone band of the late 80's and 90's . He might be a little awkward in interviewing Terry but who gives a shit - he's smart and so is Terry ...it comes across in the interview .
