In the 70's when I was a kid , my dad loved to listen to this song on the radio, and every verse describes his life growing up from the we have known each other since 9 or 10 . This part describes his best friend Buddy when they were kids ..2nd verse talks about his father, my dad told me was an alcoholic and beat him many times when he was a child especially cuz he wet the bed on nights. When I took care of my dad during hospice , the nurse had to put a catheter in him, because it was to hard to bring him to the bathroom , even though he had a catheter he kept saying he still needs to pee, I kept telling him , Dad you have a catheter in u don't have to go to the bathroom , you are safe, I didn't find out what he went thru as a child until my aunt , his older sister told me about this, then I realized why he was behaving this way. Because he was worried about wetting the bed. 3rd verse My dad always wanted another daughter to name Michelle , when my mother got pregnant with her 3rd child and was a girl my mother wanted to name her after her name Carolyn , and he reluctantly agreed. But she still brought him happiness my sister did bring my dad to enjoy Myrtle Beach and found starfish on the beach. My dad passed away in April 2011 when the birds started singing in the spring (from prostate cancer at the age of 71. ) RIP Dad I Love you .I took care of him till the end

One of my all time favourite songs and singers. What a great performance this is. Damn but this takes me back to being 16 going on 17 again.

I love this song but makes me cry😢 because bring me memories of a dear friend that died at a very young age... 🎵we have fun, we have joy, we have seasons in the sun🎵...and yes we had so much fun!. And our generation still enjoying this wonderful song..thanks Mr. Jacks!🤗

The first time I heard this song was in a bar called The Love Boat in La Crosse Wisconsin where the DJ was playing this. Now seeing Terry Jacks, he still has that voice and is looking good as well. Over the years I have wondered what he was up to.

True... Life is for living. Don't waste time fighting. This song came at the right time where we were facing the generation gap. We rebelled against our parent for no good reason.😢

Last week, Skippy, my constant companion for the past 18 years, crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I found this video fitting, and it comforts me to imagine sharing it with him. BTW This was my Cairn Terrier... Seeing Terry singing again, 40 years later, was awesome!
