I think it should be September 11th. We know that Tara Browne was likely the person who blew his mind out in a car, but then that scoundrel Lennon asks if he was "from the House of Paul" Don't say it's "Lords" because it isn't. That's what the listener might expect to hear so subconsciously fills in the "Lords" at the end, but it's "Paul." Is this Lennon being deliberately enigmatic? We might never know....

I looked into the sky Everything was high Higher than it seemed to be to me Standing by the sea Thinking I was free Did I hear you call or was I dreaming then, St. Paul? You knew it all along Something had gone wrong They couldn't hear your song of sadness in the air While they were crying out, "beware" Your flowers & long hair While you & Sgt. Pepper saw the writing on the wall You say you want to live your life to the future They say they've got dues to pay today You say it's the fool who plays it cool, Sir And if tomorrow comes, you know, they'll all hеar St. Paul say: Let me take you down You havе a different view Hey there, Paul, what's new? Did Judas really talk to you or did you put us on? I think there's something wrong It's taking you too long To change the world Sir Isaac Newton said it had to fall Hey St. Paul! You say you want to live your life to the future They say they've got dues to pay today You say it's the fool who plays it cool, Sir And if tomorrow comes, you know, they'll all hear St Paul say: I read the news today, oh boy You had a different view Hey there, Paul, what's new? Did Judas talk to you or did you put the whole world on? It's a creepy song, for sure. There's a whole genre of music that I label fondly, "creepy rock songs," primarily of this particular style and era. Also if you ponder that IF it is indeed about a dead original McCartney, it does add another layer to the creepiness. There's another equally obscure creepy song called "So long, Paul" that adds yet another layer to the idea. All this in good fun, of course!

A song about what happened to Paul’s disembodied spirit returns from the underworld and attached himself to Sgt Pepper( Billy Shears) as described in the song ‘ Hey Jude’. During a seance Halloween midnight ( now Nov 1st 1966). Jude( in the Bible brother of James and form of the word Judas) becomes soul brothers with James Paul McCartney. November 1 being All Saints Day hence Saint Paul. The writing in the wall that he and Sgt Pepper describes the inside of an ancient Egyptian tomb pasted with prayers and incantations. Terry Knight would later pass away on November 1…All Saints Day. All painstakingly described in ‘ The Memoirs Of Billy Shears’ written by Paul’s replacement.

The only "non-Beatle" song owned by Maclen Music, (McCartney/Lennon). A company that only had five shares of stock. Two owned by Paul McCartney, two owned by John Lennon,(now by Yoko), and one share owned by Apple records, at the time owned by the Beatles. Released just months before the Paul is dead story took off. Many believe these are the words heard when it is played backwards. "He will be with me. They may hide it. He must be with me. They miss him. He must be with me. They miss him. They hide it. Who lives with that? Paul is dead. Who lives with that? Paul, miss him. Paul, you lost your wings. Paul is screaming. Paul was cut. Why? (Paul is dead.) Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Please, get me out! Who is Paul? They bought me out. (head wrapped) They bought me out.(miss him) They bought me out. Please, get me out! It's obvious Terry was trying to say or comment on something having to do with paul, and it sounds like he was putting paul down as he keeps asking him questions almost in an accusatory way while also referring to him as a "saint" , which is supposedly a person that can do no wrong. For example- "or did you let us down st paul". It almost sounds like Terry was airing some kind of falling out he had with Paul, in a way that probably only him, Paul and a few insiders would've been able to really understand. I'd be interested in what paul has to say about this, though unfortunately he probably wouldn't remember it even if asked.
@Kieop
@Kieop 2 жыл бұрын
True. Except how would they even have known each other? Terry was just there to see if he could get signed by Apple, but his meeting with Paul didn't go very well, so he decided not to. How can you fall out with someone you never fell in with? Maybe he bought into The Beatle image/myth and was disillusioned by what he saw at Apple. Maybe that's what the song is about.

Ok, this is a mess of references but let's see if we can sort it all out. I don't know if Terry was religious but not only is there the conspiracy about Paul McCartney's death hinted here but the conspiracy about Saint Paul being a false apostle seems to also be hidden in here. The reference to Isaac Newton could also be biblical considering Newton wrote a commentary on the book of Daniel and the Apocalypse of Saint John. Perhaps Terry is trying to connect John and Paul to the biblical apostles as well. There is also a reference to Judas, again a biblical reference. There was an early sect of Christianity that believed Saint Paul was a false apostle, perhaps Terry was linking this idea together with McCartney's falseness somehow. Did McCartney and Terry have a falling out of some kind when he visited apple records? IDK but very interesting song.

Paul McCartney died on the m1 in 1966 "5 o'clock as the day begins" he blew his mind out in a car, he didn't notice that the lights had changed, they thought they'd seen his face before nobody was really sure if he was from the house of PAUL. His replacement is billy shears/billy shepard from billy and the pepper pots, they released and album before Paul's death full of Beatles covers called merseybeats......?????? It's a Vanilla Sky go figure.
@Goctagon
@Goctagon 8 жыл бұрын
Paul didn't die. The person who 'blew his mind out in a car' was a man named Tara Browne. It was the "house of Lords" Billy Shears was Ringo. This song was the only song of Terry's that was recorded on the Lennon/McCartney publishing company making it seem as if They had encouraged him to write this song. This song made the rumour to what it is today.
@mingimajewski3546
@mingimajewski3546 6 жыл бұрын
Goctagon no, the Beatles only used that story as back up story because they knew people would ask who died in a car crash. They overdubbed "house of lords" with "house of Paauuul" because it was Paul who died in a car crash. You have fooled yourself and go with the "exactly the same!!!" Argument. Only people who havent done the research claims that Paul and William is exactly the same as before. Paul is "Yesterday" and William is "Another day", that is the code. Death cab for cutie has a connection with A day in the life. And William performs as "Viv Stanshall" in that movie. You are naive if you think that this is the only Paul is dead song out there. Beatles made several themselves, The Who has made a very famous song about the replacement and even Donovan, Rolling stones and Elton John has Paul is dead songs. It is more complicated than this song started the "roumours". Living is easy with eyes closed, but come on. Be more logical. George Harrison has called him "William" on camera and he has admitted (also on camera) that he joined Beatles as an already set up affair. He is not JPM and Paul has been dead since late 1966. Linda played along with the charade, Heather Mills did not. So she isnt heartless.

You have this all wrong. Terry died in 2004 in Temple, Texas. He was living in his condo with his daughter, Danielle and her boyfriend. There was a fight between Danielle and her boyfriend and Terry tried to break it up. The boyfriend stabbed Terry and he died. He was not shot and it was not in Houston. Also, Terry Knight and the Pack broke up and they performed as the Fabulous Pack. Later, Terry stepped in to manage them as Grand FUNK (not Trunk) Railroad.
