Hinduism is a load of empty garbage philosophy that goes nowhere. Never makes a point. Krishna was a legend, and I think a lot of Hindus would acknowledge that. However, I think people did have a sense that God would come in the flesh. The man Jesus (ye-shu-ah) that lived in the 1st century, however, has been substantiated as a historical man in the flesh that claimed to be God and we have historical accounts of the things He actually did and said, even from non-biblical sources (the Jewish Talmud said that He used Black Magic to perform the miracles). There’s your historical God in flesh that you should worship. George calling Krishna my sweet lord is as dumb as calling Thor my sweet lord. That being said, I think George just wanted to be different and non-mainstream and I get it. A lot of Christians are seriously slow and idiotic and just digest and regurgitate their culture. Hence the fact that this song kicks ass and Christian music sucks... ok, let’s hear the ad-hominem arguments. Don’t forget to put on your holy robe or fedora...

The book is lengthy, and has much history about the band, and about them as individuals. I lived Beatlemania. My comment was related to the fact that George was in the Shadow of John and Paul, for too long. He was my favorite Beatle. RIP.

@@daniellehall9679 It's a masterpiece in concept but you have to have the video with the visual cues throughout to understand. If the Beatle's story of fame and disintegration wasn't known, the lyrics are essentially nonsense. But framed in a proper context (definitely not in a stage performance unless it's theater) it's as infectuous mentally as it is melodically. George is a minimalist and you can't play music and expect to be understood with such small and nuanced references. Far more intellectually connected than John or Paul because he could afford to sit back and watch the whole of the comedy from the sidelines.

I think this confirms that the Beatles really loved each other as true brothers, having been through both heaven and hell as a unique body. George and Ringo were especially close, but even with Paul's need to be out front and John's mercurial jabs at the Beatles as a group and as individuals, the true bond of love was present. Ringo is just a lovely man, while Paul is the tireless performer. John was the barometer of them all, and George was the quick witted, clear thinker, without a "candy coating". I had a very similar reaction when I heard about Stevie Ray Vaughan's untimely demise, so I can definitely relate. As a young, up-and-coming guitarist myself, Stevie Ray was a huge influence, so his loss was a bitter blow. What really chapped my @$$ the most about the unfairness of it all was that his helicopter flew into a man-made ski hill. That's right...they had to build it so the pilot could fly right into it. At the time, the only consolation I can recall about that horrible day was that Eric Clapton was also supposed to be on the same helicopter, but he decided to stay behind to party some more instead.

“When We Was Fab” so eerily recreates a Beatlesque mélange of sounds that you’d swear it was a Magical Mystery Tour outtake. When Harrison decided upon pursuing the track, it helped that he had a kindred spirit in the producer’s chair in Jeff Lynne. “I just had the thought, ‘I’d like to write a song that’s reminiscent of that period of ’67,’” Harrison recalled in an interview from that time. “In my head, I could hear Ringo counting it in, ‘One-two duh-duh-dum, duh-duh-dum-dum.’ And I just started right there writing that song, and then Jeff was around and we got out this piano and we came up with all these little bits like the catchy little piano part that plays the melody on the chorus. And, of course, the start of the song and the original intention was that we should have that kind of sound.” In addition to Starr’s inimitable drum fills, Harrison’s familiar slide and the icy piano part recalling “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” “When We Was Fab” also contains quizzical strings and crazed backing vocals a la “I Am The Walrus” and a sitar coda worthy of “Love You To.” That it all holds together without sounding like some Stars On 45 concoction is testament to Lynne’s estimable production skills and Harrison’s charming lyrics, which look back with clear eyes, tongue partially in cheek, and warm heart. Harrison doesn’t get caught up in a blow-by-blow history of The Beatles, instead settling on a more impressionistic take, like memories flashing before his eyes in random order. He quotes Bob Dylan (“But it’s all over now, Baby Blue”) and Smokey Robinson (“And you really got a hold on me”) but only indirectly hints at Beatles’ lyrics: The “take you away” interlude recalls “Magical Mystery Tour,” and his insistence that “Still the life flows on and on” references his own “Within You Without You.” He also gets one more shot in at the taxman for old time sake. Harrison balances out halcyon days of pullovers and green grass with some darker remembrances. “Caresses fleeced you in the morning light/ Casualties at dawn” is not the kind of feel-good couplet you would associate with Beatlemania. And his assertion that “The microscopes have magnified the tears/ Studied warts and all” seems to be a dig at journalists looking to dig up the underbelly of the Fab phenomenon instead of just enjoying the gleaming surface. Ultimately though, the sweet far outweighs the bitter. When Harrison sings “And we did it all,” wonder and gratitude are evident in his voice. The accompanying video added to the feeling with a trove of winks and nods to the Beatle mythos. Maybe “When We Was Fab” isn’t grammatically correct, but it was right on the money for those who were missing the magic of The Beatles and the wisdom of the “quiet” one.

Woos indicate I Am The Walrus Song, you can hear a slight Mellotron flute in the left channel. Ringo is carrying a heavy and long piano (Carry That Weight reference). String arrangement indicating arranged tunes by George Martin and maybe a nod to the B side of Yellow Submarine. You can see also the 7 wonders and George playing a cello (presumably indicating the strings part he did on All You Need Is Love, though he played the violin there).

0:39 I love how Ringo jumps back to avoid getting gored in the family jewels by the celloist's bow.

I love his solo stuff so damned much. My Sweet Lord is a great song from my childhood too. You can really hear his Beatles ideas in here and it sounds like Jeff Lynn lended some help here maybe. Well, just saw him in the video so that's a positive yes haha. This is great, great stuff. I really feel sorry for most young people of today because they're not even aware of the fact they should be eating their heart out over previous generations that actually had music. There's a some good new stuff out there but you have to look to find it. Back in our day, it was easily found. Today, not so much.

Only George could have pulled this off so masterfully. Thank you, George, for all of it.
