I got the 43x not to long ago. Fell in love with it on day 1. Extremely reliable. I don’t dare use PSA or Shield 15 round mags. Glock is all stock and OEM mags. The more reliable the better if that day ever comes.

One important difference that you didn’t address is grip circumference and trigger reach which is why some are willing to give up the 5 extra rounds and choose the 43X over the 19. It has nothing to do with capacity or grip length or overall thickness. The grip circumference does make a substantial difference to those with smaller hands and the ability to get a proper grip on the draw and finger placement on the trigger which is essential to recoil control and accuracy. Just food for thought. Nice comparison, hope this helps understand why some choose the 43X.

I used to carry a g19. I'm a slim guy and I now carry a g48 because it's more comfortable for me personally. Your points are very valid. To me the grip doesn't really matter because people don't pay attention to anything. Their to busy looking at their phone. And I live in Georgia .

I have both and choose to carry the 43X because it is easier and more comfortable to carry. I'm not as concerned with capacity as I am with comfort and weight; every ounce matters and every quarter inch of balk matters. It will probably never be needed and if it is in all probability only a few shots will be required. When I carried the G19 I would tend to leave it home, but the 43x is a good compromise that I will actually carry and I shoot it well. Sometimes I even grab and go with my G42; an extra mag is easier to carry also. All of life is a compromise.

@tomermarom The G43x has more recoil because of being lighter which makes follow.up shots harder in a stressful situation. So you have less capacity in a gun that is harder to shoot. Not a good combination. Thanks you for watching

If you carry appendix, the length of the slide does matter. a lot! and I would give up five extra windows to be comfortable, a Glock 43x is a lot thinner than a 19 and now you can get a shield arms gen3 magazines

If it’s OWB I would go with the bigger gun for EDC. It’s more comfortable to carry OWB. If Its IWB carry I would choose the thinner lighter gun. Good video.

I'm a runner. Right now I live in a small town and have never felt the need to carry a weapon. However, I'm planning to move to Atlanta, and since the crime rate is higher there and I like to run in the early morning, before daybreak, I think I need to carry something for self protection. I chose the 43X because it is the lightest. I probably will only load six rounds when I carry it, other than at a range.

Weird choice... I'd go and look at the sig p365. I just did today actually and the ergonomics are really nice. Much better than the g19. G19 seemed super small to me, I could barely get a good grip on it, but the p365 somehow felt both better and smaller. Idk...

However, I did hold a sig in one hand and the Glock 43X in the other and the Glock was much lighter. The Sig was probably a different model than the P365, though. I'm not sure. Before I bought this Glock, the last time I fired a hand gun was 30 years ago and it was a Colt 9mm I trained with while I was in the Air Force, so it's been a long time.

I own both. There is a company "Shield Arms. They make a 15 round magazine that fits & works in the Glock 43X. Shield reccomends that you switch out the mag release as theirs is metal, just like their 15 round mag. The Glock mags are plastic & may be chewed up by the shield mag release. in all the shield package -1 15 round mag & their mag release is about 70.00- The 15 round Shield mags run 50.00. I shoot the best with my Glock 26 gen 4. I do not know why, I just get better placement.-Great video. I am going to subscribe to this channel. I just found out about it tonight-God bless.

@TerryBenton True in most cases. Magazines are less so. Mags are a consumable if you shoot often enough. And so far the reliability of these mags seem to be pretty good. Haven't heard any bad experiences. Personally I carry a CZ P07 most of the time, since I like the DA/SA Omega trigger it comes with, but for most use cases something smaller with a 10 rnd capacity is more than enough. And I must say, that little bit less width does really make a difference, especially if you carry appendix

Slim lines are just a good standard for carry. I’m not a big guy, 5’11 165 lbs. compact and subcompacts are bulkier for me to carry especially in a holster. Carrying appendix, 43x isn’t as poky. I just like being comfortable, if I can carry a gun all day and just forget about it, that’s what I’m carrying.

I agree, the strongest trait and the the reason i prefer the 9mm is for its firepower. If I will choose between an FN TAC .45 and Beretta 92xi that both has 18 rounds. I will pick the 45 ACP.

Correct. Nobody takes into account that it requires extra firepower when using a 9mm. If those same folks were given a choice between a 10 rd 9mm pistol and a 15 round 22lr. Pistol everyone of them would choose a 9mm. It isnsimple science. Thanks for your comment. I have the FN 545 tactical. Striker fired version on your FNX. It holds 18 rds. It is bad to the bone.

Im late to this thread, but i have both. My 43x has the shield 15 rd mags. They both have their place. When im in shorts tshirt and flip flops, i appendix carry and the 43x is the clear winner. Also in a suit, ill shift it over to the 2pm position. Again how thin it is makes a difference especially in slacks and a dress belt. This is where the thinner slide really comes into play. In the fall/winter in jeans flannels with a proper gun belt, glock 19 all the way. When i go to the mall or theater i bring the 19. The 43x is too snappy and thin and short of a barrel (i over grip sometimes) for me to feel comfy taking shots over 15 yards with it. Probably a training / range time issue. The glock 19 i feel more than comfy taking 25+ yards shots with. End of day its like a set of golf clubs. Each has their purpose. When im camping or in the woods, i carry my 30sf with more of a punch.

As a 57 year old woman with medium size hands. As you know GRIP is everything. I struggle with gripping the G19 properly. It’s too wide for my hands. Now the 43x is perfect for my medium size hands. I am not giving up on my G19, I go to the range weekly to learn how to shoot it. It’s just that darn grip…making my shots go the left….

I will not give up my glock 19 for a slightly smaller gun. I know what they all say statistics show you don't need that many rounds. However for that little of a difference, I don't see why anyone would choose the 43x? I understand a much smaller gun, like a snub nose or maybe a phoenix .22 that is way smaller. I look at it this way, if I am protecting myself and my family why would I not want the most protection I can for conceal carry. I can carry 30 rounds easily vs 20, andI can add a light to my 19 so I can safely identify at night.

I own a SIG 228 made in Germany and a Sig 239. The 228 has a 13 round magazine while the 239 carries 8. Both guns ride in the same holster and their dimensions are similar to the Glock 19 and 43x. On paper there is little difference but I find the 239 easier to conceal and carry. I guess the 43x aficionados feel the same way.

I can see why people carry the 43x. It’s a lot easier to carry in my opinion. What I can’t understand is why people carry a Glock with aftermarket mags to make it 15 rounds. If I carry a Glock it’s for the legendary reliability. Aftermarket mags don’t have that. I have a g19 and I am looking for a better carry gun right now. I love shooting the 19 and shoot well with it, but I just don't like carrying it. I chose the 43x for 2 reasons. 1- gun,holster, pants thickness, shirt,plus belt, = THICK! IWB OR OWB. 2- The 43x is HALF all that. Year round. Carried the 19 for three years. Along with the 26 when printing might be an issue. 43x hides on me with a Crossbreed holster 365 days a year. With half the space. Happy shooting.

I think the marketing gimmick is that it's more concealable. In reality, i would choose shootability over concealability .... i know a handful of people who carry 34s. And it make sense. Its their comp gun, they shoot it well. They dont care if it prints. 99% of people can't even tell if you print. Only the ones that carry can call out a print. Just say it is your diabetic monitor, urostomy bag, colostomy bag, ileostomy bag, insulin pump, pain pump, etc......

Welp, moving over from Springfield subcompact were my flush mag holds 13 plus 1 and the standard is 16 plus 1 but not the hellcat, trying to decide what to now carry. Im looking to also get a carbine 16in barrel so im thinking the 19 would be better for what im looking for. On top of i only run night sights so im interested in a red dot. So what i got from this video is they are the same gun, one stock has more rounds, however both can take aftermarket parts, which i thought was a big thing with glock but actually finding out the glock crowd is actually split. Some will rin aftermarket but others see no point. Overall im glad to be getting into Glocks. I've a couple Springfields and the p365 so im excited to pop my glock cherry

With my body mass I don't wear big clothes the 43x been slim and lighter is invisible in my picket or on my hip with my fitted shirt, when I tried with the 19 it has has bulk slightly more visible the 43x disappears. 43x now can hold 15 n 18 rounds with shield arms mag the 15 round mag can take +3 base plate so I have 15 rounds in my 43x so it beats the 19 by far because now with a +3 base plate I can add another 3 the 19 is too fat with my dressing fitted clothes

The Dagger micro 15rd mags fit the 43x as well. Both the shield and Dagger mags seem to be very reliable options according to what I've been seeing. I don't understand why glock just doesn't make a 15rd mag. Obviously the 43x will accommodate it. And, they'd make a killing on them as much as they charge for mags.

It depends on how you are built. If you are thin and you have smaller hands then the 43x fits you better. They are not exactly the same size. The 3/4" longer barrel of the 19 sometimes peaks out from under my shirt if I reach for something or bend over. I never want anyone to notice that I am armed. Sometimes the 19 feels a little too heavy and it pulls down on my pants. The 43x is 6 ounces lighter. I carry all day, every day and iIt makes a difference. The flatter gun rides closer to my body. It prints less. I can carry an extra mag on my offside to balance the load on my belt if I want too. That's 20 rounds on tap if I need them. We all make our choices based on the way we go about our lives. Nobody said you have to like it, understand it or use it yourself. If you want to carry a desert eagle, knock yourself out.

Have both a early 43X with silver slide and Gen 4 19 but the new Glock 49 is very appealing in that it's a 19 with 17 slide . However my favorite 9mm is the Glock 26 Gen 5 MOS when my G30 is taking it easy.😂

I have both and my 43x is what I carry, because its shorter, lighter, and thinner than the 19, AND Shield Arms makes all metal and reliable 15 rd mags for my 43x .

Shield arms requires modifying a gun to make it as good as the G19 is out of the box. The G26 also accepts g19 mags stock. Just a thought. Thanks for watching

@@TerryBenton they recommend changing the mag catch to a metal one ( because they don’t recommend having a plastic catch on a metal mag) which they provide, and takes all of 30 seconds to get done. So actually, you now have better gun than a 19 out of the box.

@@TerryBenton My 43x is my light carry. My daily is a 48xMOS with. An EPS Carry red dot, and a TLR-7 light. I’ve also been known to carry my Kel-Tec PA3T with some super hot +Ps. I only point this out because you repeatedly yourself about 6 times with “why would anybody choose the 43x over a 19.” And I’m also a firm believer…if you need 16-30 round for defensive carry, you are either a poor shot, or your in a fire fight with the wrong weapon.

I do not ever recommend aftermarket mags. If they work for you that's good. I think the double stack gun is a far better choice.

I own the 43X and it fits my hand so perfectly that I can conduct a fucking symphony with it,,,now to your ‘?’ that annoyingly asked repeatedly, here’s your answer Slick,,,first off, my 43X kicks no more than a 19 if you know how to hold it,,,’printing’, there’s a major difference between the two,,,major!!! now round count, your obvious biggest gripe, I get it, more is more, but let’s be realistic here, unless you live in a war zone, 99% of all encounters involving ‘live fire’, are at extremely close range, and happen faster than you can even process, that said, it’s generally over as fast as it started, and I’m sorry, but if you can’t get it done with 11 rounds, chances are pretty good, you’re already fucked,,,I’m just keeping it real Slick,,,and while I do not recommend those after mkt 15 round mags,,,they are available for ppl like you,,,also, judging by your hands, you’ve got some meat hanging on you there Slick, 😁 just sayin, I’m under a buck-40, so every millimeter matters,,,43X just works for me,,,I’d rather have 10 rounds, or even less, in a weapon that I have full control of, and have total confidence in, over anything else out there,,,it’s a Glock!!! When you live in a state like I do that only allows 10 round magazines If you choose to add a 15 round magazine and you shoot someone even if the shooting is justified and criminal charges are not filed be prepared to be sued civilly and if you are carrying a high capacity magazine a left wing jury could end up giving the victims family everything that you own. Goodbye house pension whatever you got. So if bought a Glock in this state it would be a 10 round 43x and I would carry an extra 10 round mag and practice how to change it quickly.
