*Well-made, delivered quickly, and easy to install with **Fastly.Cool** . I may be imagining it, but it seems quieter than the 14 year-old unit that I pulled out. Of course it was noisy at the end due to failed bearings, so hard to compare.*

I just replaced a fan for a Lady who lives in a Condo where my Mother lives and no attic space... the Lady wanted a bigger fan which meant a bigger duct going from 3" to 4". I had to butcher the old shroud to pieces with snips to get it out and also cut a bigger hole for the new shroud and move wood blocking out of the way. The original wiring was too short to reach so had to cut a new electrical access in the shroud to make it work... there was a plumbing pipe in the way too and some metal cross trusses. [SO JUST LET ME TELL YA] it was no easy task working through a 9-1/2" square hole doing all that, but got it done and it works. I do have Plumbing skills and Construction skills and I am not a quitter!! Parts used: 1. new Dewstop, Breeze Easy fan Model: F200-1W 1. 3"x4" plastic reducer 1. 12" piece of flex duct pipe 2. Clamps Duct tape

This fan works very well. kzbin.infoUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh I replaced my old fan as our radon levels began to spike. When I remove the old fan water poured out of the fan. Must have entered in through the out spout. Replaced with this unit and levels dropped a bit but still over 4.0.Did some more digging and found that we had a small hole under our waste pipe that was allowing some water and radon in.Patched the hole and the levels dropped almost overnight.I really would recommend the radon sensor. It gives real time readings. Without it we would have never known that we had this issue.

Thank you. I was momentarily stumped until you mentioned that you didn't need to use the new casing. Then I took a closer look and saw I could just take it out of the casing. Yay!

Thanks! You helped me fix my problem. I especially appreciated the advice to plug it in to a normal outlet and test it--that helped me determine that indeed the problem was that the motor was squeaky. Now it works just great!

Thank you for the video VERY HELPFUL! I'm going to work on switching out a couple fans now. What I would point out is while you can get a replacement fan unit for $15, it's most likely going to be a something like a very loud Broan 688, which I understand is the typical cheap model that most homes have installed by the builder to save on costs. For an additional $25 you can find a superior model.

Hello Terry thank you for the video it was very informative, however i need to ask you about a problem I’m facing ,i need to replace an old fan with a new one that has the heater, fan,and a light and the old one has only the fan and the light can I connect the new one the same way as the old one, also i only have 2 switches one for the fan and one for the fan

Great video Terry. I noticed that you did not turn off power at the circuit breaker panel. Is it necessary to do that or can I just switch off the Fan in the bathroom like you did?
@theinternetelectrician9 жыл бұрын
+Josh Barnes With bath fan installation such as this one, the replacement unit just plugs into a 2-prong receptacle at the fan housing, so shutting off the switch is really more than adequate as it is no more of a shock hazard than plugging in any small appliance or tool. Having said that, it is ALWAYS the safest practice to shut off the breaker controlling the circuit when working on electrical systems. (said Terry, with thoughts of liability in mind :-))

Do all fans have the hole for the plug in the same spot? Or did I just buy the wrong fan? I wanted to just replace the inside without taking the old case out of the wall…. The plug doesn’t match up though….

We're moving into a new place in a month and one of the first to-do's is replacing a bathroom fan that I think has a shot motor (walk-through of new home, there is power to fan, but does not spin). Are most fan assemblies universal enough that a person can typically find a replacement unit that won't require changing the entire housing?

thanks for the vid. I'm curious though; 15$? If one were to spend 40-60 could they not get a very quiet fan, 1.0-2.0 sones? I mean, if noise was the problem....

+Ben Lanteigne You get what you pay for! Could have upgraded to a better fan, but that would be quite a different and more complex job involving changing the fan housing as well. This was a simple replacement in kind.

Terry Peterman I'm glad you like it, there will be more soon. So tell me what happened that that sort of lame clunker is able to be passed off as an appliance. they did a renovation in a bathroom at my church and they took out an 8 inch propeller fan and replaced it with the very utmost in shoebox ventilators. I was able to save the motor and blade and frame but they had already trashed the authentic grill. I wish there was a way I could arrange to buy all the cool real stuff and have it on hand when people figure out what a con job has been pulled on them.

Hello, my issue is that after a shower we get too much condensation on mirrors, counters, etc. if I replace the fan will this help or do I need to find something to dry up the air?
@Mark-OutWest8 жыл бұрын
I would think you would need to find a fan that has a higher CFM rating to flow more air unless your stock fan has a lot of dirt in it.

Hi I have a odd problem with my bathroom vanity light. No power there it gets it's power from a outlet switch combo no powerful there checked the breakers none are tripped. But at times out of the blue it comes on because the light switch is in the on position then if you turn it off and on it will stay off until what ever it is that makes it work again happens any idea?

@woodheat4116 жыл бұрын
The motor is oilable, that's all they need in most cases, and it would be good to start by saturating the bearings with some parts cleaner, then add the oil. This guy is apparently ok with the clunkiness of this postmodern imposter. He is right to say it can be replaced, but it would be more accurate, before installation, to say This is a piece of crap, show me the real fans!
