Great video as always Terry. I agree, for price,, convenience, and simplicity, the pocket wins. I’ll add that you can put the pocket on a lightweight gimbal on the ground and it’ll stand 5 feet tall, much easier than with a mirrorless cam.

Don't forget the f7.1 That's like using zv e10 just to play on small sensor territory. Best usecase is you gotta use it with 11mm @f2.8 or f4

@ I had to to make the DOF somewhat comparable, even at the Osmo pockets f2 equivalent there just isn’t a lot of DOF due to the small sensor and wide lens

The Osmo has so many features but although it looks straight forward, so many of the features are hidden away. Once you start getting used to what it can do you will find yourself using other cameras a lot less. There is still so much I don't know, I never knew you could use the mic to take pictures! I'm definitely going to start using that, thanks 👍

Thanks for this vid man, hella informative! I think after watching a few break down videos, it's really safe to say that most people should be getting the pocket 3 for vlogging. It covers such a wide variety of use cases and more. Not to mention the creator pack being the ultimate one stop shop for add-ons at such a reasonable value in the space.

The Pocket 3 is GOAT'ed. I don't have a Sony ZV-E1, but it's really good from what I've heard. I still have my Sony A6400, and I would upgrade to the Sony Alpha 7C for the full frame. (If I stay with Sony.) The DJI Pocket 3 is a really good starting point. You can eventually make it a B-cam later on and use it for exterior shots or when you want to be lowkey. PSA: Get the Creator's Package. 100% worth it.

The pocket just makes vlogging so much easier hands down. Vlog, put in pocket, take photos with mirrorless camera, pull out of pocket, continue vlogging.

Here's some engagement bro. If you are outside walking vlog, I say the Pocket 3 all day. For live streaming/studio/twitch... ZV-E10 II all day because that bigger sensor will make it shine as a streaming cam, just make sure you use the capture card instead of USB. BAM! That being said I bet you're using an Sony ZV-E1 to film this.

No matter how much I want the DJI Osmo 3 I won’t buy one. I have an FX30 A73 & an iPhone 16 Pro Max I also have gimbal’s and drones so I don’t see the need for it but if I was just starting out, I feel like the ultimate content creating tool would just be your phone and a DJI Osmo 3

Great comparison. Unbiased & fair. I will mention, the W for battery life for the Sony should probably have been a draw. Hot-swapping batteries? You can purchase additional battery handles for the OP3, which is kinda the same 😁 Loved the vid mate 👍

Great video super helpful. I am new to content creation, but I’m really interested in photography not too much vlogging, at least not for public consumption. I think the Sony camera is great to start and then if I find myself vlogging more, I will get the Osmo and keep the Sony as my camera for photography. Plus, I have the iPhone 16 pro so I’m not running to get another pocket camera with a tiny screen. Thank you!!

Pocket 3 is my favorite camera to use for vlogging purposes. I love my S5iiX, but damn all them gears I need to slap on the camera to vlog with it. Plus, my shoulders be getting tired when I hold it up too long yapping in my vlogs. LOL!!!

Pocket 3 for the win as a vlog camera, no question. Both look amazing through this video though. I have the Sony ZV E10 M1 as my studio camera, and it's dope with amazing image quality. I also have the Pocket 3 for vlog and filming b-roll . No chance I would ever take the ZV E10 out to vlog over the Pocket 3!

@pedgarage I'm sure it performs just fine, it has great image quality (although I don't think it quite matches sony cameras). The main reason I don't use it for that scenario is simply it doesn't produce the "look" I'm going for, specifically for talking head content. If you're wanting that "youtube" look for talking head videos with that blurry background - the pocket 3 isn't going to produce that with its fixed 2.0 aperture. Otherwise indoor shots can look great (for like a museum or even low light situations). There's pretty good manual exposure controls to make indoor shooting just as good as outdoor shots, and auto modes/normal color profile look great right out of the box.

Hey😊, I had a ZV e10 for my first 2 years of videography and content creation and I think I used it to the limit(i hate the 8bit, the low light and the stabilization issues). Thats why I'm about to buy an upgrade and I'm struggling to decide between fx30 zve1 and A7c2. I do know all the specs already but still not sure about what to pick. The fx30 is more reliable and marketed as a small fx3. I would get the fx3 if I had the money for it (so not for now). Then the zve1 has better stability and way better low light performance and dynamic range but seems to overheat. Also I don't need so many vlogging features like cinemativ mode or easy to use overlay and the question is if more low light is more important than having more lights with the fx30. I do know my craft to some degree by now. Do you have a good advice? I know with good lighting everything can look good also apsc but buying and carrying these lights is also to consider. And there are also the a7cii and a7iv with other cons. Thank you for you good videos in gernerall by the way 😊I hope you can help me. (I'm definitely video first person, and I do videos style like gawx and life if riza)

I have zv-e10 m1. I will buy osmo pocket 3 for sure, for vlogging. Catalyst Browse is an extra step you don't want to step on. Because it is anyway time consuming.

G lens with separation background = awesome.i have both and my Dji is my secondary device mainly use on sunny day, I n lower light I prefer the image quality not the Sony , as what you said the Sony can capture great raw image as well and is best of both world

Hey there! If I want to record anywhere from 30sec - 3min videos of product reviews, product demos, but do not want to do any professional editing and have excellent audio, what would be your recommendation for gear? I thought about solely using an iPhone 16 Pro with Rode Wireless Pro (but connecting those two would require a tad extra gear for example), then doing basic editing on the iPhone (to trim clips, maybe add a title, but no color grading, no major time consuming post work) itself to post directly to KZbin, what do you think makes sense? For comparison, I also thought about getting the Osmo Pocket 3 with DJI Mic 2 and using DJI app to edit, but then again I still do not want to download anything from OP3 to phone to edit. Long story short, what do you think makes the most sense to capture quality video, quality audio, maybe 5-15mins of editing in phone, then posting directly to KZbin? My apologies for the longer question!

Get Neither, get an Action 5 Pro with a DJI Mic Mini, film in Horizon Balance, 4k 24/30, -2 Sharpness, -1 Noise Reduction, ISO 200-Max, D-log M w/ DJI Lut, and you will get great results for cheaper and it'll be waterproof.

i know bokeh aint everything, but is there a reason you did choose f7.1 on the sony for the entire video? instead of 1.4? you just skipped the biggest advantage of a bigger sensor... also, no lowlight test? fells like you (despite of stating different) really want to sell the pocket hard ;)

Because DOF can give the illusion of better image quality to the untrained eye. So to make it fair, the Sony needed to be stopped down to give them similar depth of field. Also, yes the Osmo pocket is an f2 equivalent, but because the sensor is so small, the depth of field is really about an f8 equivalent on full frame. Also low light was an oversight; but the zv-e10 has a much bigger sensor that would be superior in low light. Even with that advantage, had I not forgot to included, as a vlog camera, the pocket 3 still would have one based on scoring alone. If I wanted the pocket to win as you say, I wouldn’t have called this a fair fight down the middle
