*8K is Nice, but 1. You Can't Down load it too the App I know I tried, you need to down load it too your PC. 2. Most people don't even have NEAR the specs that's needed to render let alone Edit 8K. I tried with just 16GB of RAM and I'm running a AMD 7900XT with 20GB VRAM and this is a Built PC and I just installed my other RAM so I'm running 32GB, so it's really more of a question of which does better at 4K and in Low Light*

Check out the in-car display at 08:19. The Bluetooth icon on the Ace Pro 2 remains sharp and clear, but on the Action 5, it has lots of noise

Chose Insta over Dji simply cause I'll never need to use 10bit lol. Audio is a huge factor for me, there's a big difference with/without the wind reduction too.

Both cameras have solid image quality, stabilization, and color, but I’d pick the AP2 for my mountainbiking videos. Riding through forest trails downhill needs good lowlight performance, and looks like AP2 handles it well.

Compare to a front touchscreen, I prefer AP2's flip screen design. Honestly, even the rear screen on action cameras feels too small for me. My chunky fingers always end up tapping the wrong thing! I have zero interest in tapping on an even smaller front screen.

Loved both of these cameras. But for me, the action 5 log mode is leagues ahead of the Ace Pro 2 sadly.

DJI really killed it this year! With that said I’m still going with the GP13 based on its 8:7 aspect ratio or even better the 1:1 with the max lens. In my opinion you can’t beat being able to take your footage in post and edit it anyway you choose. Just so you know I’m not a brand loyalest I also film with the Ace Pro 1 which is a great camera and picks up where GP lacks. Cool Vid bro 🤙

personally when I see how the sky is burnt with little detail in the clouds with the dji osmo action compared to the ace 2 pro at 16min10, I much prefer the insta!!

Moving from GoPro to Osmo Action 5, I am completely satisfied. As for Ace Pro 2's 8k, I don't have any use for it, heck my computer probably couldn't handle it. After watching this video, I have no desire to switch to the Ace Pro 2

I don’t have the ace pro but I do have the DJI Osmo action 5. I love my action 5 it’s great in every way. Personally I think the audio straight out the camera sounds better on the DJI. I guess the ace pro has its upsides for its market, maybe you’d like the flip up screen for vlogging. My worry would be that screen and maybe giving a possible weak point in terms of ruggedness. For me im stoked with my action 5 pro. The footage from LOG is top notch

Just got back from a 7 day vacation in Dominican and DJI KILLED IT!! Scuba diving, paragliding, speed boat, you name it and DJI drone and action cam killed it. I can’t knock 360 but DJI gets my money. PS - GoPro is dead.

As far as the screens I would prefer the action 5 Pro. Because the flip screen will have me looking at it rather than the cameras. I believe I would focus more looking directly into the camera with the action 5 pro. That’s just my take.🙄

What? I’ve never seen a video on all of KZbin where the Action 5 Pro beats the Ace 2 Pro. Either you’re doing something wrong, or you got the wrong camera, because I own both, and there’s no way the Action 5 ever outperforms the Ace 2 Pro.

Maybe you should have a look in the comments section, also, to correct you, most comparisons favor the action 5 pro. So either you are just watching people who prefer the ace pro 2 to justify which one you think is better, or you need to watch some more videos. I own both, and if you watch the entire video, they both have clear advantages over the other in different categories. Unfortunately to however disappoint you, the action 5 has more perks and system advantages.

I personally choose Action 5 Pro over Ace Pro 2. - It can record inbuilt mic during external mic usage. - 10 bits Dlog M - Dual screens that can touch to operate both. - I personally don't like the flip screen on Ace Pro 2. - Internal memory which I sometime make use of. - Batteries that could last me a day of shooting without worrying. Fast charging is very handy in some situation. - Quick capture which is very fast

I couldn’t agree with you more, 10 bit is a game changer and 8 bit is definitely a deal breaker for me. All things being equal, even if Ace Pro had 10 bit, it still would have lost in my eyes. While 8 bit is a deal breaker in 2024 and definitely in 2025. DJI just has a better eco system and if companies want to play at that level they need to make it just as easy. DJI has an ecosystem like Apple it just works, and that’s not an easy thing to put a value on especially when you trying to remove complexity. I think your review was spotted and 100% fair because the Ace Pro 2 isn’t bad- it’s just not their yet even with 8 bit color if look past that I couldn’t get with the audio.

Yep, 8 bit color is consumer grade. 10 bit is pro grade and when you are working with log color grading you can push and pull way more with a billion colors versus 16.7 million. Dealbreaker.

I’ve loved and used so much the ace pro for the last year. I was very excited when the ace pro 2 came out and I ordered it right away… the shipping date came and nothing, one week later and nothing… insta360 support claims they’re back ordered when the truth was that they had hardware problems and the battery was overheating. One month passes and nothing or any updates on shipping so I decided to cancel my order.

The DJI Action 5 Pro is vastly superior in that it's available in retail channels, while the Ace Pro 2 has been in "PreOrder" status at B&H for weeks and weeks.
