Back with another supermarket stealth car camp, this time I thought I would try the UK's biggest supermarket Tesco.
After feeling a bit down in the dumps the last few weeks lacking motivation and inspiration to go outside and do anything I decided to head out on a stealth camp to try and lift my spirits!

Those yellow barriers are for height restriction, you'll be fine in a car if they close them. My van generally gets under most of them, but a high top van wouldn't fit. I got a fine a couple of years back as I parked in Morrisons car park for over the allotted time (3 hours, I think) and I paid it, but having searched online, many people say not to pay. It's worth looking in to. I'm extremely glad you now have a dedicated piss pot!

Hi Will, Love your videos mate, I think your unique selling point is the fact that you are doing something different than all the other van dwellers who are selling the perfect van life. You are showing it can be done on a budget and in a street or a car park. As soon as you get a van parking in places becomes more difficult and blending in is hard. I live on the coast in Devon and they are really clamping down on vans overnighting but not cars!! Yes I have a VW T4 camper but love watching you park up in a street and making the most of what you have. Having a stove fixed on the side is boring compared to watching you scramble to get it out and then cook on your bed! Whatever you do I wish you luck and I will still watch your videos because your charm and personality shines through. ATB, Lee

A top tip if you are doing curry & rice again. Buy yourself a rectangular Tupperware type plastic container that clamps down on all 4 sides....boil the microwave rice first (slowly) in a tiny drop of water (this will create steam later)...place the rice in the Tupperware box and seal all 4 sides down. This will now stay hot for about 10 mins while you cook the curry. When its done you now have a nice little eating container with the curry on top of the rice. Take care there . Hope this helps :-)

Brought back memories. When I lived in Eastbourne in 1989 my then husband and I used to drive down to the beach and Park there, sleepingbags in the car. Then getting something to Drink at the off licence and off to the pub for Dinner and Drinks. We stayed over night in the car. Always caused laughs by Terry's family. We loved it. 👍👍👍👍🙂

Hello it is Maarten , taxidriver in Christchurch Dorset. I in normal circumstances am often doing journeys to either Heathrow Airport or Gatwick AirPort . I know on this video where you are . I often stay around the corner in Horley . I have often slept in my taxi in Victoria Carpark which is free at night . Parking charges from 8 am as far as I recall. But I always park at the far end by houses . In the morning the public toilets open not too far of a walk. Lidl is two minutes walk . Waitrose near station . You may know where I am in Horley ! Wow if when allowed and you find yourself in Dorset would love to meet you . I cannot wait to camp out in my car , when visiting places of National Trust and English Heritage. The foot warmers are filled with Iron oxide, more or less what happens is when you remove them from their packaging the air around you causes the iron oxide to rust which makes heat. The process is called exothermic oxidation!

I would love to see you get a bigger van! I do know one thing, if you do decide to upgrade your vehicle then because you've started out in a Galaxy, whatever van you do get will seem so spacious! You've actually had it quite hard compared to most of us fulltimers, (so kudos to you), as we've got proper kitchen and bathroom setups and more space, especially the headroom! The fact that you're happy to car camp in a galaxy, means that vanlife would be a walk in the park for you by comparison! You've got a great positive attitude and outlook on life and I'm looking forward to your next video. :}

I think you have done great things with your mini camper it starts to look cozy, and it has made me think more about camping but in my case, it will be on an MC out in wild nature with some easy camping gear, just to relax and escape life now and then :)

Excellent video Will. I fill my gas canisters up from £ shop lighter fuel cans. You're never stuck for gas and is so much cheaper. Adapter on AliExpress for £1:50. Get a granite breadboard and place it on your opened drawer for a sturdy worksurface. Get 2 thick single quilts.. Much warmer than sleeping bag. Done a lot of stealth camping UK Supermarkets. Best sites are usually 5 miles from a town I found, but even then Police can appear and knock your window. But once a good sight is found you can re-use. Some industrial parks can be good, find one that is too small to fund a camera. School locations can be good, no cameras and no night time presence.

I stealth camp in my car quite often but prefer quiet residential roads with limited street lights and no through traffic, preferably out of view from houses, eg near a village hall or church. Arrive late, leave early, don’t leave rubbish or other waste. Check overnight camping restrictions on signs. Simple really.

You may put a little bit of water in the food can, so kind of wash the food left on the walls of the can and then poor out the little bit of water into the cooking pot, so it doesn’t burn the food. Fire turned lower too.☺️

Stealth camping in my Berlingo, I just look for a place in a road that has a hedge rather than in front of someone's house. A bit of outside lighting is good as well so no-one can see light coming from the car.

Thanks for the latest vlog Will. Entertaining as usual. I believe a glass/cup of warm water, first thing in the morning, sipped, not drunk quickly, is really beneficial for the system. Your curve is definitely flattening in UK and spring is almost sprung. We are over the top of the covid hill and while it could be a slow but steady trip down the other side in low gear I feel positive for the first time that we are over the worst. Hot water bottle, great idea and you can use the warm water to have a quick wash in the morning.

I would get ready for the letter - well worth checking on Google Streetview before visiting if you're in any doubt next time, doing so for that Tesco shows a sign and cameras on the entrance to the car park. I'd guess being so close to Gatwick Tesco are red hot on it otherwise airport travellers and visitors would hammer it for free parking (LGW is pricey!). Really enjoy the content, I think what you're doing to find the fun and adventure in our everyday world is a great thing. Looking forward to more uploads!

Hi Will. Have you considered using earplugs? I work shifts and can highly recommend the silicone mushroom shaped type as they are very good at noise cancelling. You can get them on Amazon and are much better than the foam ones. Cy

Frying things in a jetboil with too little fluid will ruin it. It is only made for boiling things. I did it myself on a train trip and released the fire alarm on the whole sleeping coach. Did some frying of swedish meat balls, and the teflon coating in the bottom came off.

The Tesco may very well been 24 hour before the lockdown. In my job i go all over the place and I use many different Tesco’s all over. When lockdown happened every single one stopped being 24 hour. After the first lockdown end more added more hours, but Tesco still only has reduced hours all over the country. Thankfully they are gradually getting back to normal though.
