My model 3 had a paint scrape on the lower lip when it came off the transport vehicle. I noted it at the delivery center and they wrote up a "Due Bill" to fix it at a later time. They could not since they didn't do paint/body work at that time. Then the pandemic hit and I took it back months later but they refused to honor the written due bill stating it was "past 3 months time." No expiration date was on the due bill. Turns out they also will not honor their own Due Bills and will improvise any excuse not to repair delivery defects.

I completely agree with all your gripes and all are warranted to have Tesla fixed. It's unacceptable that they only addressed one of those issues you had. That crease in the back seat is horrendous. I could never live with that. Anyway you still have an amazing EV and it's one of the best out there. My wife's model 3 had a panel gap that we didn't really paid attention to until 6 months later and it was starting to bother me so I contacted our Tesla service center and they actually fixed it for us on "good will".

This is why I didn't get a Tesla. I really wanted a Model Y but I only drive about 3000 miles a year so the gas vs. electricity cost concern doesn't exist for me. I just think they're cool. None of these new car issues exist (or at least continue to exist over several years) on any other car brand at this price point. I bought a new Telluride 3 months ago and it's all good. No issues. Update - I've had my Telluride for about 5 months. Still exactly zero issues. It also has a 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, as well as a 4 year anything at all (even the wiper blades) warranty for an additional $750, which I gladly paid. I used to have about $125,000 in Tesla stock. It's all been sold. Elon has destroyed investor confidence with his Twitter God complex debacle. What a shame. All he needed to do was focus on Tesla quality control.

Owners report "parasitic loss" of up to 6 miles per day range just sitting in the garage, a base electricity use of 2200 miles per year. For your minimal driving, that would almost double the per mile fueling cost. Might be able to disable features like "sentry mode" to decrease current draw, but some is within the Li batteries themselves.

Thanks for a very informative video! For Tesla to use the "not within the first 100 miles" excuse for not fixing what are clearly manufacturing defects is unacceptable and indicative of a company that doesn't really care about its customers. Like you (and many others) I live more than 100 miles from the delivery center. I went over my 2020 MY carefully when I took delivery and caught pretty much everything (some defects were hard to miss). If I buy another Tesla (I've been thinking about a MS LR), I will be even more careful (and hope it's not raining when I take delivery. Don't know how one would properly inspect paint in a downpour). The infamous "it's within spec" dodge is another matter. I would expect better upholstery fit on an econobox than what you got with your rear seat. All this said, I love the MY and the MS would be a nice upgrade. On delivery day customers should not have to arrive hoping that they got one of the good ones. I like what some of the other manufacturers now have to offer. But the Tesla charging network vs. EA is a strong draw, at least in my region. I may go with something else and take my chances with charging rather than fit and finish. It shouldn't be this way.

Tesla is not investing enough money in quality and service. Tesla bought back my lemon of a 2021 Models S Refresh after 6 months because of all of the issues - keeping it in the shop for 9 weeks by that point. Tesla is a company that cares too much about investors and too little about its owners. With so many Tesla customers subject to 'repair avoidance' tactics by Tesla support, I wonder if there's an internal memo to circumvent costly repairs. Tesla should consider nursing because they are masters at applying band-aids to customer issues. Their first response is usually no. Sometimes, with a little begging and nagging, Tesla concedes.

These cars should have never left the Tesla factory. Quality Control would have caught the issues on the assembly line or prior to leaving the factory. The issue is that it's more important for Tesla to get the cars out for delivery rather than fix the issue and delay shipment/delivery. Tesla will in turn, save millions for the percentage of customers that will just take the car as is rather than report and have the issues fixed once they have delivery of the car. For this reason alone, I will never buy a Tesla unless their philosophy changes.

Tesla has long been known to have a “build it now fix it later” philosophy. With a almost fully automated assembly line that produces a car every 45 seconds it’s just cheaper to fix cars after delivery rather than halt the assembly line. QA will only do that for the most egregious defects. Statistically your car will likely be fine. But when you buy a Tesla you should be aware that they are not stopping the assembly line to fix a panel gap the way Audi might. Rather you buy the Tesla for its engineering and technology not for its body paneling and trim

INEXCUSABLE poor build quality, especially for such an expensive vehicle. Most entry level cars don't have these kind of defect these days. Number one advice- look elsewhere for a new ride.

You want people to "know what to look out for" when they pick up their $100k car? How about NOT RECOMMENDING people spend $100k on this pile of turds? I just bought a BMW iX-wipes the floor with any Tesla-and the quality is off the charts. It's almost like Tesla customers have Stockholm Syndrome or something.

I was once very close to buying a tesla until I had a chance to really check one out in a Tesla showroom. The Tesla there happened to be a Model S Plaid. If you have ever been in a higher-priced ICE car and then looked at a Tesla, it immediately becomes apparent how poorly these cars are thrown together. The amount of inaccuracy and the very cheap appearing materials are just stunning considering this is a far above 100K Dollar car. The battery technology, the e-motors, and parts of the software may be excellent, FSD is certainly not together with many other parts of the cars. I then checked out a model Y, and the experience was even worst. The list of issues reported by Tesla owners has grown to almost endless, and it becomes difficult to understand why such a car is priced above 100K Dollars. Meanwhile, used Tesla Model S and Y pile up on cars DOT com and other car trading platforms like no other cars in that price range, and I only wonder why ...🤔

Understandable! EV’s are still new technology. It will take time. We have a long ways to go since all energy sources we know from current technology come from chemical reactions. I think the Japanese said it best “in about 200 years.”

Even budget cars like a Dacia Sandero is better built that this. And Tesla do absolutely sod all to help. A polar opposite of the attitude of Lexus and their newly launched LS400 in 1990. Actual qualityand care existed then. Companies like Tesla don’t give a sh1t anymore

Thanks to all the individuals who have spoken about the shitty build quality of their cars...I will NEVER buy a Tesla. I'll wait till China totally takes over the electric car market and get a cool BYD or a Xiaomi ...they are superb.

Not sure why people are willing to pay luxury car prices for a budget mass market electric car. Tesla can’t seriously match any of the quality of a luxury brand so don’t pay these extreme prices just because it’s electric. All cars will be soon. Who cares.
