Cool concept but a couple of critiques. Concerning the window panel, the input on the inside of the CT and the output side needs an adjustment of 45 degrees from the 90 degrees that it is currently. Air works very similar to water. The more restrictions / bends in the flow, the less air it can move due to the restrictive ducts. These can easily be done by changing the tooling and dye of the mold for the window. This would make it WAY more productive. Another critique: Use the passenger side as well. 2 ducts are better than one and might as well use as much of the airflow as possible. This will cool / heat the tent up much faster than one and also provide more even air distribution. Lastly, where you you were taking a temp reading in the output, that needs to be insulated as well. Everything that is on the outside of the CT needs to be 100% covered in insulation. The condensation you are seeing is a bad thing. That means it is being non-effiecient.

Cybertruck 2.0 with a back window that rolls down would be dope. Would open up a lot of options...even outside of tent climate control.

Seriously don't understand why that wasn't a thing in V1. Tesla and Elon knew camping was a primary use case for the vehicle.

The readings appeared skewed to show a much bigger temp drop IMO. The “before” readings were from the back wall. The “after” readings were from the floor. He momentarily dragged the sensor spot up on the back wall for a moment, and the temp briefly showed 90s. Could have all been accidental, or insignificant. Possibly. 🤨

My complaint still exists, you cannot stealth camp in the Cybertruck. I have stayed in parking garages probably 200 times in my Model 3 and nobody ever knows it. Additionally, I have taken my Model 3 down some paths to camp that would really have been better in a truck. I really wanted Cybertruck to be my roadtrip driver, but it just can't be until we get a midgate passthrough and I don't see that coming.

In my 2002 Toyota pick up I put a bicycle tire tube in between the glass of my cab and bed topper, and pumped it up just enough to make a seal. I then point the centre console heaters through the two open windows. I'd then set my autostart into deep winter mode where it would automatically start the truck every 4 hours for 15 minutes, let the truck run for awhile before going to bed

You have to inspect your exhaust system before you try something like that as a small leak under the bed could be fatal!

I agree with this statement. Yes, Model 3 is good too but you lose out on that extra room as in the Model Y. I actually camped in my Tesla Model Y for 2 days when Hurricane Helene came through SC. I was so glad that I was able to use it and only use 7% of the battery while doing it.

The cabin’s not really airtight, so I’d think this would work to somewhat, but not to the degree he “demonstrated.” His temp readings seemed orchestrated to show a much bigger than actual temp drop.

What happened to the cabin of the cyber truck, is it going to be super cold and wasted energy? Can you shut all the vents and only open the vents that are needed?
@BeardedTeslaGuyАй бұрын
In camp mode it will run the hvac in the truck, so it’ll be cooled off in there
@whitedemonnnАй бұрын
What I meant was when the camp mode is on, how does the hvac know when the temperature is met in your tent…opposed to your cybertruck cabin and since that only use on side of the vent, the other vent is blowing in the cabin not the tent.

Hm but if you put the plastic piece in the window, the car is no longer really locked, is it? The window is open and someone can just pull the plastic out. Seems a bit unsafe. I also think for such an expensive car which clearly is made for having some camping module on the bed, this seems too handmade to me. I would expect Tesla to have a proper neat solution, really.

@miami3863Ай бұрын
Yea I looked into camp stream, I like the setup but questioned its effectiveness among some other things. I ended up getting the Wave 2 as well for my rooftop tent on my R1S. The Wave 2 is a very niche device, but if it works for your situation it’s perfect. If it doesn’t work, it’s an expensive and heavy paper weight lol. Another bonus over the Wave 2 vs Camp stream is that it’s portable, I can use it for many different applications. The camp stream only works with your Cybertruck or Tesla/rivian.
