Correct the Infiniti did have mechanical back up for its drive by wire system. Whereas the Cybertruck is truly a full drive by wire system with no mechanical back up. The Tesla uses redundant motors and sensors for its back up.

Elon dropped the price to sell more cars in this high interest rate market, not because any specific car company released a superior product. Tesla makes a high profit per car sold. Elon decided to prioritize selling more cars to a wider audience by lowering the profit margin per vehicle. As a result, Tesla sold more cars than Mercedes, BMW, Audi, and Volkswagen combined last year.

Only thing that a makes an electric vehicle more suitable for an apocalypse is that you don't need to have gas to run it. If you can manage some solar panels you can live with it for ever. That's why the cyber truck is better option here. Otherwise you will need to find gas stations in the forests.

In the zombie apocalypse, grid power is down so gas stations with their electric pumps will simply stop working. Then you have to siphon from other cars as long as that lasts. Cybertruck just needs to go find a house with solar panels and Powerwalls. Why? Because the sun always shines and that house will produce electricity for decades and decades.

@xxr1nzelectrified I don't think this is an EV vs ICE issue. Newer Teslas have notoriously bad production issues. It's gone downhill so much that I had a coworker who had a Model 3 and wanted to upgrade to a Model Y for the space; however, because of how much Model Y owners complained about poor workmanship, panel gaps, etc he chose to stick with his Model 3 since it didn't have any issues. Fortunately, a lot more manufacturers are getting into the EV space. I'm currently shopping for a non-Tesla EV since I can't trust Tesla with all of the issues I've seen my friends deal with.

Yes, there was a sterr by wire car, but it was an analog car. The CT bis a digital car, so the steering changes with the speed of the car and other conditions. The "old car" had a fixed ration steer by wire, som it feel like any other car on the road. That was not the target for Tesla, it was to vastly improve the dring capabilities.

Infinite Q50 was DBW, but still had a rack and pinion for backup reasons. Cybertruck has no connection, but multiple backups for steering redundancy.

AutoTrader : this REZVANI monster looks the part and properly I mean :-) .... but it should have a the VW-s older 4.2 litre V8 BiTurbo Diesel with around 420 HP and 900 Nm of torque....that way it would go as a tank, certainly better than with the 6.2 gasoline engine, and it would have a sustainable fuel econoly for this size of a vehicle....instead now it eats probably around 40 litres / 100 km.

I like the Rezvani concept. I just optioned one and it came out to like $600K 🙄. With an unlimited budget I’d still buy it 😄. Wouldn’t by the Tesla for any money with the exception of buying one and flipping it to someone else for profit. It’s got the build quality of used toilet paper and a totally distracted driving experience. Not for me.

Nah...most car doors aren't that sharp, they'd definitely damage the carrot but they wouldn’t slice it off like a knife, tesla doors are significantly sharper than an avg car door
