Thank you for the video, I want to get the mobile connector, however you mentioned in another video that the mobile connector shouldn't be set up outside. I have a townhouse am wanting to install this, just wondering if you know if there is a cover, or box or something to cover it from the weather elements? I've been looking for something simplistic but haven't found anything as of yet? Thank you

Very informative! Thank you - I have a Model 3 2024 LR - had it two weeks- just had an electrician install my wall connector- I chose this based on rebates I get from a credit card company and my power company. Question ok to charge everyday? Even if battery is not below 20%? Do I need to precondition the battery each day prior to charging at home! Thanks
@MyksgarageАй бұрын
Just set your charge level between 70-80% and just plug it in when you are home. If you're doing longer drives or road trips it's okay to charge to 100% when needed

Remember to check your Electrical panel! Some older homes have 100 amp(or less) panels, so installing a 48 amp charger consumes almost half of your available power.

Yeah good point

Yep. We have to do a new panel, overhead to detached garage, and new sub panel to do it not cheap but needed to do this for heat pump water heater and AC as well.

Definitely my issue! Not trying to drop 4-5k on a 200 amp upgrade and run wire. My 100 amp break is more than enough for my house so it’s an unnecessary upgrade just for an EV

@@tonyfrese6903 our house is old we believe was rewired and updated in the 60s after we recover from this the next things on the list in order are replace zinco sub panel in guest house, replace 4 circuit fuse box that has our doorbell and some low voltage transformers on it, rewire the entire house and add afci circuit breakers.

The cyber truck and do Bi-directional charging so it might be worth it to have an electrician wire up the universal charger so you can power your house with your truck

There are some videos out there and suggesting not to use the Leviton Nema outlets. They suggested using Hubbell or Bryant ones
@Myksgarage26 күн бұрын
I wonder why?
@nayil10026 күн бұрын
@@Myksgarage In those videos, they state the Leviton's are designed for stationary points like home dryers/ovens. Whereas the industrial ones (Hubell and Bryant) are designed for continuous connecting and disconnecting. Go look at the video posted by Bearded Tesla guy on KZbin. His Leviton caught on fire.

Hi question for the the mobile connector when charing it from home using the 14 - 50 plug after charge and you disconnect it from your car do you leave the other end of the cable always connected to the plug that your electrician installed on the wall or you remove it and only plug it in when you need to charge ?
@Myksgarage3 ай бұрын
I always leave it plugged in. There's no need to take it out when you're not using it.

100 ft run, from panel for me. Most installers were quoting $2200 to wire up a 14/50 outlet or hardwire a separately purchased wall connector

Yeah, but it's probably only a 30 amp outlet. If you want to get the fastest speed, you wanna have a 50 amp wired
