Thank you for the video, I want to get the mobile connector, however you mentioned in another video that the mobile connector shouldn't be set up outside. I have a townhouse am wanting to install this, just wondering if you know if there is a cover, or box or something to cover it from the weather elements? I've been looking for something simplistic but haven't found anything as of yet? Thank you

Very informative! Thank you - I have a Model 3 2024 LR - had it two weeks- just had an electrician install my wall connector- I chose this based on rebates I get from a credit card company and my power company. Question ok to charge everyday? Even if battery is not below 20%? Do I need to precondition the battery each day prior to charging at home! Thanks
@Myksgarage
@Myksgarage Ай бұрын
Just set your charge level between 70-80% and just plug it in when you are home. If you're doing longer drives or road trips it's okay to charge to 100% when needed

Remember to check your Electrical panel! Some older homes have 100 amp(or less) panels, so installing a 48 amp charger consumes almost half of your available power.

Definitely my issue! Not trying to drop 4-5k on a 200 amp upgrade and run wire. My 100 amp break is more than enough for my house so it’s an unnecessary upgrade just for an EV

@@tonyfrese6903 our house is old we believe was rewired and updated in the 60s after we recover from this the next things on the list in order are replace zinco sub panel in guest house, replace 4 circuit fuse box that has our doorbell and some low voltage transformers on it, rewire the entire house and add afci circuit breakers.

The cyber truck and do Bi-directional charging so it might be worth it to have an electrician wire up the universal charger so you can power your house with your truck

Hi question for the the mobile connector when charing it from home using the 14 - 50 plug after charge and you disconnect it from your car do you leave the other end of the cable always connected to the plug that your electrician installed on the wall or you remove it and only plug it in when you need to charge ?
@Myksgarage

I always leave it plugged in. There's no need to take it out when you're not using it.

100 ft run, from panel for me. Most installers were quoting $2200 to wire up a 14/50 outlet or hardwire a separately purchased wall connector

Originally i was goin to put it outside jus less den 10' from electrical box and i was quoted $1300 Now i decided i want it installed in garage and im estimating that its approx 35-40' from electrical box but i havnt got a quote for that yet. Based on the 1st estimate i got and which was less than 10' from electrical box im thinking its gonna cost at least $2000

I wired a 240V plug on the other side of the wall from my exterior garage sub panel. Nema 14-50 plug and some 8/3 wire and a 40 amp breaker was about $45. Watch some You tube vids and do it yourself. It's not rocket science. Just wear some 10KV gloves and goggles :) Disclaimer: My wife says I'm a genius but I am really just a smart ass. Guys I have a question… my wife has a Tesla Model 3 & she only takes it to work which is only 5 miles a way. But when she comes home it uses up 50 miles of charge. It should only use up 10-15 miles. Why is there such discrepancies? Granted it’s hot in California right now (Over 90-95 degrees) & we have to run the AC. But still why?
