Somebody asked Tesla vs BYD. I heard that BYD does not separate hybrid sales from pure electric (BEV) sales. If this is true how are they claiming they sell more BEV’s than Tesla?

For years, the media reporting about BYD used the total NEV (new energy vehicles, includes hybrids) numbers to claim BYD is outselling Tesla in BEVs. The only quarter when BYD really outsold Tesla was Q4/2023. We´ll see what happenes in Q1 but since BYD is growing faster, they probably will sell more pure BEVs in 2024.

Tom, I agree with everything you said about Tesla’s future. But it appears that Tesla’s runway is a lot longer than other investments at this moment. I would rather deploy my investments into owning (self custody) Bitcoin and in my IRA & brokerage accounts I rather own MSTR, COIN & bitcoin etfs. I sold Tesla at the beginning of the year and made those changes and I am up 30% - 70% while Tesla takes a dump. I knew that I should have gotten out of Tesla after the Fed raised rates not understanding that Tesla is interest rate sensitive. IMO we will have rates higher for longer which will lengthen Tesla’s runway. I will consider DCA back into Tesla after this Bitcoin cycle. Here is the million dollar question. . . Does Tesla outperform Bitcoin??? . . . Ever?

Tom, I thought this video was great, But, I think even you, short changed Tesla! Tesla is a great car company that is leading the whole EV industry. You did mention their solar division, but there is so much more to Tesla. You explained all the financial fundamentals, which are in fantastic shape. So where is My beef? It's with the analysts and investors that aren't realizing the whole picture of Tesla. We all know that Tesla's are electric and all functions in the car are run by computers, and I'm pretty sure it's not running on Windows 11. I watched a video of a software expert who analyzed the software of a Tesla and stated that their AI software was at least 6 years ahead of everyone else's. This was just for their cars. They also produce software for power companies to route electricity for use and reroute electricity in emergency situations. Then you have their solar industry and All the components that that involves. The company Tesla is so dynamic that it bogals the mind and the analysts are focusing on just a few numbers involving the cars. This is criminal short sightedness.
