In every area, Teslas' tech leads. The smarts and reliability of the Megapack gives it an edge over other mass storage units that may be a bit cheaper per KwH. Same with FSD and Optimus; BIG lead on competition.

I would love to see a factory open in the EU somewhere, as well as a battery supply there. Elon did mention that they are looking for a new version of a megapack that could 'directly plug into the grid'. I have no cluse how that will happen, but it will probably reduce the lower total cost (counting removing some transformers, etc). On the Semi and EV makers before, Tesla didn't make 'limited EVs' because 'they can't do it'. The others don't make 'competitive' models to their dino burners.

I doubt prices will fall until demand reduces. No reason to drop prices when you have years of backlog. We could use some good competition!! Thanks for the quick video :-)

The initial purchase price of jets is somewhat irrelevant. It's all fuel and uptime. Same largely for heavy equipment. I was in China 10 years ago for Caterpillar and their equipment was WAY more expensive than domestic stuff, yet the uptime/reliability, productivity, and tech (e.g., GPS fleet management), was so much better, they had the #1 selling product in many categories.

The prices have already halved this year. The price is available again on their webiste and they're about $1.2m each now. The LFP cell price in the market has collapsed and that's affected the megapack costs. The margins will probably be the same level but the components are now so cheap the price has come right down.

Hi, can you comment on how/if installed megapacks are protected from lightning-strike type power surges? Can megapack functionality be impaired/ruined that way? Any redundant short /surge protection you can speak to? Thank you.

Hi Brian.. great vid. Question. If electricity prefers not to be wired over long distances, why are these megapacks all grouped together?? If they scattered them , would it not be more efficient? I see farmers near towns/ cities installing a megapack or two to support the urban areas.

Management is easier when they're all in one place, provided you have the power lines there. Electricity doesn't have many preferences.

What about buying a used Tesla? I saw a 2023 model 3 for sale with 29,000 miles listed for $24,000. Lots of those out there to be had. I understand those that find the new EV to expensive. Understandable. That is why there has always been a used car market.

Check out The Tener BESS by Catyl. The Chinese have many BESS in the market, which bodes well for the future. Tesla will have it's place but it will not be a slam dunk, particularly in areas outside protectionist USA. The price of Megapacks halving must bring a whole lot more demand. Perhaps Tesla will ramp up putting them at Superchargers.

@@isthatatesla They certainly have a lead of battery technology, which is one reason Tesla uses so many MIC batteries. LFP technology came out of China, Tesla is buying old Chinese technology to install in Nevada for LFP.

Bolts are good cars. Gm replaced the bad LG made batteries with a larger battery and did not charge for the larger battery or lock out the extra range. Would Tesla do that?
