Do you do any sporty drive in twisty roads? How does the suspension and response of the RWD Model 3 compared to the BMWs you owned before? I am pondering going from my tinny hot hatch with a manual transmission to a Tesla. Before I only used cars for fun, but since I have started commuting by car I need something comfortable with a good cruise control system and economical, but still fun to drive hard in the mountains on the weekends.

My opinion is mandatory test drive one This car weighs 1800kg which is not that much for an electric car but is a huge difference compared with a 1200kg hot hatch and a major ( for me the only)drawback of electric vehicles making them considerable slower in turns I'm waiting for some segment b electric hot hatch maybe an R5 rs/Alpine or similar

Great information. Thanks! They should have put the indicator buttons on either side of the steering wheel imo. As for the wiper controls, I've never had a car with an auto setting that works properly so that multi use button seems like a pain in the butt. And how do you flash your high beams? And I have to ask, what's your background? I can see you're in Portugal, but your English and your accent is intriguing to me. I'm Canadian and to me the accent kind of says Aussie. I could make up a whole story, as your friend's accent is quite different. hehe

Thanks for your videos so far. I'm about to get my model 3 RWD in the UK (grey 19-inch rims). As someone who appreciates good quality music, I would really like to get your thoughts on the sound system in the car. As I'm yet to see any videos on the sound system in the RWD model. I know the long range has an awesome system, just wondering how your model sounds?
@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! The new sound system is pretty good as they've added a subwoofer, but I feel the mid-highs and highs are a bit lacking. The bass is very punchy. I'll have to compare LR side-by-side to know for sure.

Give us some background on how you ended up in Portugal 🇵🇹 and what daily life is like for you other than the car. But regarding the car, it’s not yet available yet in Canada 🇨🇦 for test driving so I was wondering how it handles bumps and potholes as the older versions have a reputation for being extremely noise and clunky over big bumps. I currently drive a Mercedes A35 and am considering making the jump to Tesla

@chatshd9 ай бұрын
@@europeinatesla can you share expenses monthly ? Like Insurance, maintenance, Charging ? Is it cheaper than a gas car ?
@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
@@chatshdIt depends on your region. In Portugal, there are huge incentives to buy EVs - so purchase price is already much cheaper than fuel cars (where there are heavy taxes) Furthermore, charging in Portugal at the Superchargers is one of the cheapest in the whole of Europe (€0.28/kW off-peak) If I drive moderately, I've been getting about 350km range for 100% battery, which is around 60kWh - so €16-17 per full-charge for 350km (or €0.05/km). Petrol and Diesel in Portugal cost around €1.6-1.8/L - assuming I had a car that did around 8L/100km, that'll be around €0.12-0.14/km (so almost triple to drive) Teslas require very little maintenance (www.tesla.com/en_eu/support/vehicle-maintenance) - so everything that you need to do on Tesla, you'll have to do on a gas car and more (oil change etc.) Finally for insurance - again this depends on your region - in Portugal, Tesla has a deal with Qover (insuremytesla.qover.com/pt-pt) I paid €906.75 for 12 months of insurance. These are Portugal specific and I hope this helps answer your question :)

you just press the indicator button on the side of whichever way you're about to turn the wheel, same as with a stalk. this works no matter which way the wheel is oriented.

When the wheel is upside down, the buttons are inverted...
@amesoeurs9 ай бұрын
@@europeinatesla when the wheel is in normal position, and you're making a right turn, you press the top button because you're about to turn the wheel clockwise. if the wheel is upside down, and you want to make a left turn, you press the top button because you're about to turn the wheel anticlockwise. make sense? the correct button is always "facing" in the direction you're about to turn the wheel. BTW, thanks for the vid :)
@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
Ah yes! I didn’t understand your comment at first. Today when I was driving I was thinking about what you said and yes, relative to the wheel, the right button is always on “top” of the wheel. Thank you! You’re welcome! Thank you for your support - more videos coming soon!

I have also been a Highland owner since November in Israel, and to me, the roundabout issue looks strange. We have lots of roundabouts and I have never had a problem indicating where I’m about to turn. Maybe it’s the traffic rules, but still. This is how it works for me: the roundabout always has a one-way motion, right? For us, it’s counter-clockwise. When I am approaching a roundabout, I only need to indicate in which direction I want to exit. So if that’s left, I only signal left, even if there are two more exits before the one that I want to take. No need to indicate right when I enter the roundabout. It also makes sense to others: they’ll know where I’m going and we always yield to the cars already in the roundabout.
@David_Polak10 ай бұрын
Interesting. So when taking the second exit, you don't need to use the turn signals in Israel? (Because you are going straight.)
@dmitriyonorin9 ай бұрын
@@David_Polak That’s right, it’s exactly that.
@europeinatesla9 ай бұрын
Thank you. The turn signalling definitely doesn’t work like that here. You need to indicate out before your exit
@David_Polak9 ай бұрын
@@dmitriyonorin Doesn't that create a dangerous situation when somebody who doesn't signal leaves the third exit? Somebody entering from the second exit would expect that person to go straight.
@dmitriyonorin9 ай бұрын
@@David_Polak TLDR below)) Haven’t once been inconvenienced by this. The thing about roundabouts here is that whoever’s in it has the right of way. Even if you’re in the roundabout and there’s someone before you who you expect to go straight, but they end up not taking that exit and take the next one, you’re behind them and you’re vigilant. Or vice versa, if you expect them to take the next turn and they suddenly turn before that (which is against the law btw), you’re still behind them and will stay behind until they finish that turn. Think regular junctions: when there’s a line of cars turning, you wouldn’t speed until you make sure they turn safely, right? It’s the same here. So you ideally should signal in the direction of where you’re planning to exit. To me, it sounds reasonable. Otherwise, I imagine an inconvenient scenario like in the video, where anyone entering the roundabout would signal right no matter what. What’s the point of that anyway? They are expected to turn right because that’s the direction everyone goes in a roundabout. And finally, the size of the roundabout matters. Ideally, they should be small to allow for ease of visibility. Not to confuse with rotaries, which are a nightmare and the reason why Americans don’t want to adopt roundabouts: they simply mistake one for the other!
