My previous car, stock i30N had brake fade here after 3 hard laps but was manageable by braking a bit earlier. I think Tesla should recall and upgrade these cars if they’re not built for purpose as advertised. The problem is they’re playing a numbers game here, most performance car owners (probably 99%) never track their cars. Did the owner of this car bed the brakes in at all? this is insane so many people thinking they are smart and laughing at the tesla while it is literally the best sports car ever made period ther car is not supposed to be used like this it is made for the real world and it performs insanely well there, even the old one was faster than huracan or GT3 RS 0-60, now it even handles like a marvel. it is absolutly pointless what you fgolks are pointing out, because the reason is you have no clue whatsoever. on a track you need the brakes, which this car lacks because its not made for the track like the plaid with package. in the real world you never need the brakes. with amazing brakes the heating is gone. also ICE rdrivers need to learn to not push n ev full throttle all the time, the power is just too much, even hyundai said this, cooling is everything in an ev on a track because of the insane power, litereally nothing else matters.

Tesla, the following realization occurs to me: The vehicles are built and tested in California. The developers themselves, who certainly drive these vehicles privately, drive them in this region, with the US mindset Performance means drag race (1/4 & 1/2 mile), speed means 85 mph (137 km/h) more is not allowed anyway. And no one needs a working automatic windshield wiper, it never rains in California anyway.

Yes, +60 °C is full power limit (UK owner asked Tesla). Nice lap for a stock car and there is apparenly what what you get - heatpump is underpowered to could batrery down. I did not know, that in +50°C the power restriction kicks already in. The only way would be modding of the heat pump and/or intercooler on battery loop. The car is very quiet over 200 km/h speeds. Stock suspension bottoms out relatively easily on top speeds (from other videos), so be careful out there if not upgraded.

I’ve owned a Model 3 for years and I drive it spiritedly. Also driven most every Tesla modal. The brakes are a weak point on all of them. Most people who drive them normally rely on the regen braking and don’t need to touch the crappy mechanical brakes. Hit the track and it’s a different story. Brake upgrades / track packs are a must on these cars for hard driving.

The M3P is more of a performance "line" with short overboost capability. And that's okay, especially for the price, you shouldn't expect more than that. The ioniq 5 n is an absolute exception, it is unfair to compare other vehicles with this one in terms of price and real track performance. Nobody can build and offer a car with this skills unter 90k, personally I don't think Hyundai either. It is an image carrier. Just have to look at Pikes Peak and see what the vehicle did there. The series ioniq 5 N (with standard tires) was faster than a radically converted Tesla Model S Plaid.

Considering the "going Plaid" video includes like 30% track footage with no * stating that better brakes are needed I think I have a good case. I think the reason you are seeing the smoke early on is, that the Tesla brakes last a long time, they last a long time because they rarely are fully engaged. Perhaps if you turn off the braking electric regeneration and clean off or wear off the film on the brakes prior to taking it on the track.. you might see an improvement. So, clean off the film on the pads/rotors and properly bed the new pads/rotors! Also, I would recommend cross drilled and/or slotted rotors with improved pads and that might be enough, without the need for more pistons or larger rotors. Obviously, larger rotors would help, but what is the reason you would upgrade to more pistons... because of over heating? That is not cause for more pistons.. but better cooling and also traction/grip to the rotor.

It’s a great verdict. It’s really fast in public roads and has a great seating position + visibility. Breakers can be changed. You could either start with a lower SOC and take in more regen (save the brakes) but also risk overheating Battery. I Brakes are upgraded, turn off regen, start with full battery (higher SOC means higher voltage, thus lower Amps and lower heat loss). You also might wanna start with a colder battery (can it pre cool?) I’d be curious to see the differences.

Just because there's one issue doesn't mean it's all bad. It's very common for Teslas to overheat the brakes when you push it. The brake pistons are great, they bite hard and make you stop, they just overheat easily. For daily driving that's perfect, decent brakes, but can bite when needed.

2:33 - Misha i believe the reason the tires are so good (other than them obviously being Pirellis) is those are the EV specific tires that were originally developed in conjunction with Lucid for the mighty 900v Air Sedan, because IIRC that's the vehicle on which those EV specific Pirellis made their debut with the car's debut back in 2021 with those ones now being specifically tweaked for the HM3P. for additional reference, Pirelli also just worked with Ford/Stard to make EV specific tires for their latest 1600HP F150 Lightning Electric Super Truck which recently ran Pikes Peak 2024 with Romain Dumas driving (again) taking this years Top Time Overall with an 8min 53sec.553... so indeed the current tire supplier to Formula 1 has SIMULTANEOUSLY been "super interested" in gathering data from high TQ/heavy weight EV's for some time, and directing it back into making a better EV specific tire for Production cars.

Don’t know why everyone insists on turning the regen off, the regen is one of the best part of driving a Tesla really fast and when you are familiar with the dosage and how it can help you, then you will also be at your fastest. The car is made to have full regen while driving hard, not without. Maximum discharge approximately 400kW is about 544hp which is very very good. I’m impressed and see a lot of potential in this new M3P. And before all internet troll try to correct me, pls I’ve been driving Tesla for years, I track/drag race my M3P and drive a MYP as a daily, just learn the car and you will be faster then your other cars, my M4 and my M140i has no chance against M3P on a canyon road.

@@KuraiKatsumino need to consider those things; it is stupid to call it a performance model when it overheats as you say within a few miles. Its acceleration is impressive before it overheats that why it won't accelerate fast anymore, nothing to do with speed limiters. It's a traffic light gp car, nothing more.

Fun fact: a "heavy" EV tesla model 3 performance is about 800kg lighter than the brand new 2024 BMW M5.... the model 3 performance needs a track package with carbon brakes. the rear view camera insert must be mirrored/fliped in order for us to have a better understanding on whats going on.

you could not be more wrong it is literally the best performance car out there beating huracan 580 and porsche gt3 rs, well even the old one did, this one is even faster. this is all how it should be, the m3p is not for the track as Tesla stated. it would make no sense. that is like including a charger with an iphone when 99.99% alrteady have 5 of them laying arround everywhere. you see

that is not true at all since this car is not meant for the track, in the real world you never need the brakes at all, oyu can do 600.000km with the first ones easily, you also never overheat. even the old one beat a GT3 RS and huracan 580 in 0-60, this one is even 0,3s faster than the old one and this one now also performs in corners, it is literally insane how good this car is. ppl laugh at this video only if they have no clue in reality this is the best sports car ever made no contest period
