Most people who drive them normally rely on the regen braking and don’t need to touch the crappy mechanical brakes. Hit the track and it’s a different story. Brake upgrades / track packs are a must on these cars for hard driving.

The M3P is more of a performance "line" with short overboost capability. And that's okay, especially for the price, you shouldn't expect more than that. Considering the "going Plaid" video includes like 30% track footage with no * stating that better brakes are needed I think I have a good case. @MmmHmm-ig1yj11 күн бұрын
I think the reason you are seeing the smoke early on is, that the Tesla brakes last a long time, they last a long time because they rarely are fully engaged. Perhaps if you turn off the braking electric regeneration and clean off or wear off the film on the brakes prior to taking it on the track.. you might see an improvement. So, clean off the film on the pads/rotors and properly bed the new pads/rotors! Also, I would recommend cross drilled and/or slotted rotors with improved pads and that might be enough, without the need for more pistons or larger rotors. Obviously, larger rotors would help, but what is the reason you would upgrade to more pistons... because of over heating? That is not cause for more pistons.. but better cooling and also traction/grip to the rotor.

It’s a great verdict. It’s really fast in public roads and has a great seating position + visibility. Breakers can be changed. You could either start with a lower SOC and take in more regen (save the brakes) but also risk overheating Battery. I Brakes are upgraded, turn off regen, start with full battery (higher SOC means higher voltage, thus lower Amps and lower heat loss). You also might wanna start with a colder battery (can it pre cool?) I’d be curious to see the differences.

2:33 - Misha i believe the reason the tires are so good (other than them obviously being Pirellis) is those are the EV specific tires that were originally developed in conjunction with Lucid for the mighty 900v Air Sedan, because IIRC that's the vehicle on which those EV specific Pirellis made their debut with the car's debut back in 2021 with those ones now being specifically tweaked for the HM3P. for additional reference, Pirelli also just worked with Ford/Stard to make EV specific tires for their latest 1600HP F150 Lightning Electric Super Truck which recently ran Pikes Peak 2024 with Romain Dumas driving (again) taking this years Top Time Overall with an 8min 53sec.553... so indeed the current tire supplier to Formula 1 has SIMULTANEOUSLY been "super interested" in gathering data from high TQ/heavy weight EV's for some time, and directing it back into making a better EV specific tire for Production cars.
