My husband and I have a 2022 Leaf. At a quick charge station it takes about 15 minutes to get 25+% (depending on temps). Not too bad. We get over the 215 mile range using the e-pedal to regenerate some energy, which is an incredibly efficient way of driving, and very easy. Why some people make that sound so difficult I will never know. Very comfortable car with all the "bells and whistles" of heated seats and steering wheel, navigation, pro pilot assist and the list goes on for a fraction of what the Tesla costs right now.....and it's been around longer. Acceleration is immediate. We didn't want a status symbol, we wanted efficiency and low fuel costs. The Leaf doesn't stick out with excessive "futuristic" styling, but looks nice, and you don't see one at every intersection. I like that.

It's important to note that there is no more federal tax credit for Tesla, but the Leaf still has a full $7500. However, you have to be making enough money to be tax liable for $7500 to take full advantage of it and I think federal tax credit, in general, is just dumb and defeats the purpose of making an EV affordable for the mass. I bought the Model 3 Sr+ with $3750 tax credit, but I can't seem to take full advantage of it. However, I got a $2500 CA state rebate and $1000 rebate from SCE (Southern California Edison), so I guess that's something.

Not yet it isn't, and it may never be. FSD may require LIDAR to work, which Tesla has never and still doesn't have on its cars. You can't sell a product today with what it might do in 15 years. I can't go to you with some potato juice in a bottle and charge you premium Vodka prices for it while saying "Yeah just keep it in your basement for 15-20 years and it'll be worth it."
@Tiigerr4 жыл бұрын
@@Henriburger1 Sorry dude but you're painfully misinformed, and that can only stem from not ever having followed FSD development or witnessed it in action. First off, between auto lane-change, reacting to traffic lights, and navigate on autopilot, FSD is way more than autosteer. In fact, that makes it more capable than any other system today, by far. The footage being posted from those testing beta is even more capable with 90+ degree turns and navigate on city streets. And this is a real and working product today! Second, your point about LIDAR is shortsighted as that's exactly the path they went down during early development until they realized it's limitations and opted to go a different route. They've been there and done that. The problem with LIDAR is it's great when roads are as expected, it will never be able to handle unexpected changes or edge cases as well as Tesla's approach, and that's where the real challenge will be. LIDAR will always get stuck in local maximums. Tesla's cameras and sensors approach is designed to reach true level 5 autonomy with enough data fed into the neural network. Speaking of data, nobody has a chance in hell to match Tesla's autopilot data intake rate right now. Their full fleet of almost a million vehicles equipped with autopilot are giving Tesla an enormous advantage to gather real world data and push out incremental improvements. This will be the key differeciating factor over time.
