@@rootkitxx How do I check for leaks if it is all the way down? Will there be any air left to leak? Do I just trigger the pump by taking out/ inserting the relay?
@alexdavalos1935Ай бұрын
Thanks for the video 👍🏻 I have my 2014 Tesla model s. Left it sitting for 3 months and front end went low to the ground (can’t even steer that’s how low it went) rear is good. When I go to mess with the suspension on the screen it shows that’s it’s already up. With the screen I try to lower it down and middle or up but compressor doesn’t turn on. Doesn’t go down or up . Just front end stays low and rear is up. What do you recommend on me ? Calibration maybe ? Swapped relay like you said and nothing, suspension fuse is good.
@rootkitxxАй бұрын
Take the suspension relay out, use a jumper wire (preferably thicker wire with spade terminals, paperclip will do for a second, not more) to jump the (copper colored on relay) contacts for the air pump. If the pump will run, then your distribution block isn't working right or there is a clog in the system. If pump will not run - it's possibly not getting power, so you will need to check power at the connector, at the pump. If, when terminals are jumped there is power on the connector, then pump is dead, if no power, you have a bad wire on the way to pump.

Thanks! I have a 2015 P85D, I raised the suspension at highest and leave it in the garage. 2 days later, the left side is lower, and lower. If I get in the car and start it, the pump starts to work and all 4 wheels are highest again. What do you think? Tesla quoted me 3000 for one 2 wheels, since they only repairs them in pairs. Is this something I can fix? Please advise. Many thanks!

I have one shock loosing pressure and scheduled service with Tesla. Now they say three shocks need to be replaced. After seeing your post I informed Tesla to cease repairs until the technician speaks with me first. At the same time the A/C cut on and off a few times. Now I am questioning the relays.
@rootkitxxАй бұрын
Well, it's easy to check. Disassemble the frunk (check other videos on subject) and raise the car to the highest setting. Then get your good ole soapy water and spray all the connections. If the shock is loosing air fast you might be lucky to spot it by finding where it's hissing from. Shocks rarely fail, it's usually the airline or connection point.

I'm in a similar situation, I have a 2012 Telsa Model S P85 lowrider. I swapped the relays, and I'm about to see if I'm getting electricity to the pump. Before you replaced the top fitting, do you have any idea of a "normal" pressure in the top reservoir?
@pablopicasso8502 Жыл бұрын
Don't remember. Don't have that fitting there anymore, so can't check the pressure. Can anyone that still has the Schrader fitting check on the pressure? I think I read somewhere that it was at 75psi, but I could be wrong
@rootkitxx9 ай бұрын
Pressure really don't matter, as long as it's raising up and suspension works good and no error logo, you are fine.

supposed to be 200psi using nitrogen to represurize it

Rewatch the video. Water would be in the distribution block
@rootkitxx9 ай бұрын
You will need to warm it up to the point that water in suspension control block thaws. You can take the block off too and make sure to blow all the water out of it, preferably with 100% alcohol flush after (alcohol absorbs water and dries up quick) There is a practice of using alcohol in air lines on big trucks. You may drop some alcohol down the line to the distribution block so it goes through it, once it's unfrozen. Don't add too much, it will collect at the air tank, absorb water and slush around there - you don't want that. Just enough to clear all that water out of there and "dry the lines"
@extendedepicmusic5017 Жыл бұрын
You should also do the AC condensation tube. Right now it is dripping onto the battery pack, That has caused moisture getting inside the pack.
@rootkitxxАй бұрын
Probably. It has lived in Florida for over 10 years and so far has been good. Will check on it next time I'm in there!

Hello. Maybe you can help. I have a Tesla S P85 from 2013. A few days ago, when I get to the car the front suspension is all down. The car hits on every bump, so it's stop till that day. I already change the compressor, because I few days earlier, I ear the compressor working non stop for a almost a hour. I thougt it's bronken. How ever, after change it, no sound I get from the compressor. I receive the solenoid yesterday to change, but I do not now if it's gone work. Now after two weeks, I have all the suspensions down. Do you have any clue? Change the tubes to the suspension? When it hapens, only the from suspension is down. The yellow light first apears, then a red one comes.
@rootkitxx5 ай бұрын
Sounds like you have a leak somewhere if compressor works non stop

Raise the car up and spray soapy water on all air line connections. Check all air lines for chafing/holes.

Hi, Great video, thanks for sharing. I hope you don’t mind me asking for advice. I have a Tesla Model S 2017 Electric Motor 100D AWD. The suspension system is flat. There is an error showing up, as follows: Air suspension compressor disabled - your vehicle will not rise. There is a 40A fuse that controls the air compressor (it's in a slightly different position than the one in your video). This has blown and when I replace it with a new 40A fuse, it blows immediately. Am I right in concluding that the air compressor itself is faulty? If this is the case, and I purchase a second-hand one, how compatible are these compressors or will I have to purchase from a 2017 model? Thanks in advance, and I look forward to hearing back from you With kind regards, Seamus

Hi, did you find the solution? I have the same symptoms on Model X
@seamusrispin19674 ай бұрын
@@Mitrofanovalex Hi, Sorry about the delay in replying to you. There is a 40A fuse on the fuse-box and if it's blown, replace it. If it blows again, there is a 95% chance it's your Air Compressor Unit for your suspensions. In my case, I purchased a second-hand one and changed it in about 1 hour. If you are doing it yourself, remove the compression unit and only buy the same part number as there are a few different types. I hope this helps, Seamus
@Mitrofanovalex4 ай бұрын
@@seamusrispin1967 Thanks for your reply. Yes, in my case the problem was in the compressor, but I was able to fix it myself. The magnet in the engine came off, I glued it on and everything works fine. Removing and installing the compressor is not at all difficult. The main problem is moisture; you need to change the granules in the dehumidifier often.

Hey Paul. Love the video. Can you post the 'parts' that you used to fix your S? Looking for links to order similar parts. :) Thanks.
@rootkitxx9 ай бұрын
Well, you can go to Tesla and give them that relay number, it's like $6. For a air line fix it's a 1/4" brass coupling for air lines, you can buy at places like fleet pride, it's like $4
@pollywollydo7 ай бұрын
If you have that much water in the system it would be a good idea to look @ the gel crystals in the pump ( dry them out ) as it will “ wash”the grease from the pump bigend bearing ( very noisy before it gives up) 😖. The bearing can be replaced but it’s not easy
@rootkitxxАй бұрын
Correct. It's better to replace them all together. I don't think it will be anywhere near freezing temps in nearby future, so I'm not worrying about it now.

So what was the estimate they told you to fix it? It seems like alot of work and i for that icon message and i don't feel the AC anymore working.... but my air suspension is working normal tho.
@rootkitxxАй бұрын
The estimate mentioned in the video. Check your a/c relay. If you swapped them and suspension started working, but a/c ceased, it means that your air suspension relay was dead and since you swapped it with the a/c relay your a/c relay is dead now. Go get the ac relay from Tesla. It's actually not that much work man, just a tub disassembly. Relay can be switched/replaced with no disassembly at all (just the top panel, by windshield)

@rootkitxx I got their quote and it mentioned like a part that cost like 15 bucks ambient air sensor I think it was called in the pdf in they're message quoted.
@rootkitxxАй бұрын
@@dreamkiss4u that makes sense. A/C system uses that sensor to determine if the outside air too cold. If the air too cold a/c coil will freeze too quick, so it will greatly reduce the performance to keep the coil from freezing.

Tesla didn’t even offer me to try calibrating it to see if air nitrogen would hold!!!!!
@rootkitxx9 ай бұрын
That's what I would do to refill it with nitrogen. - Lower the suspension down all the way - Enable "jack mode" (suspension leveling disabled) - Put a vacuum pump on the system to get slight vacuum in there (connect to Schrader valve I showed you removed) - Turn off pump. - Then, while under vacuum, connect your nitrogen tank to vacuum pump (purge the hose prior) and fillthe tank up to pressure you need. Similar to refilling a/c system.
