The newer Tesla might do that speed too but still it is impressive...

@@superchargedpetrolhead the newer teslas cant go that high and for good reason, it rinses the life span of the battery (aka engine because its by far the majority of the £ for these cars) If you charge your iphone with a 99v charger you get that comes with the brand new macbook pros instead of the 5-12v its meant to charge at watch what happens. First couple of times you go down Below 0% indicated range/charge you get a bit scared. But I have never gone totally out of charge, even though I have done that sort of drives at least 20 times sofar. Just waste of time to stop and charge if you know you will get to a destination with charging capability. I drive it down to 1-5% and then instantly connect the charge cable when I get home. Not always, but when needed. Still has over 95% of battery capacity left. 100.000km driven sofar.

You are kind of right. When I got my first EV in 2014 a 220 mile trip involved an hour of pre-planning and three stops of ~40 minutes each. I’ve just ordered an ID.3 Tour (77kWh) and I know that I need to stop more often than the car does (because I have the bladder of a man in his fifties) so the plan for long journeys now is just to plug it in every time I need to stop. However, the charging infrastructure has always been there since 2014; it’s less reliable than it was seven years ago, and upgrades aren’t rolling out as fast as they could, but as long as you keep a contingency (20% on the ID.3 would be >50 miles) and use ZapMap or Plugshare, you will always find a working charger when you need one.

Really enjoyed this video Matt is so watchable. Two small points though, lots of people are watching on smart televisions so when you say you put a link top right it doesn't appear on the tv. Also when talking about headroom and how tall people are, it doesn't follow that if your head is nearly touching the headlining at 5 foot 11 inches that someone 6ft tall will have a problem. It's entirely possible that someone with a short torso could be well over 6ft tall but have a short torso/long leg balance and their sitting head height could be lower that a shorter person with a different body vertical balance.
