I got a cheap blue kit like this off amazon. It was just the light and the 12v adapter with a switch on it. Had to manually turn it on and off. I like this design with the magnet better except for the wire that could get snagged. My solution is a bit more involved but it looks more factory. The wire for the hatch light is located between the rear passenger door and the hatch. C pillar? Have to remove the passenger side of the trunk trim to access the wire harness. Its a yellow wire and there are I think 3 to choose from. I had to tap and probe to figure out wich yellow wire it was. Once found I tapped into it with a splice T splitter. Same with the ground wire. I ran that to the LED strip and directly to the seal. It turns on and off with the factory hatch LED and there are no wires visible. A bit more involved but it looks more factory and I'm not taking up the 12v socket.

How about showing it at night? Otherwise, it is accent lighting

Love this, but I installed a refrigerator into that back left compartment, and it uses that same outlet. So there’s no place left for me to plug it in. Oh well. Love the idea though.

does the refrigerator take a lot of the teslas battery?

@@jatuur4082 No, it uses surprisingly little.

Great video but would have been better in the night time

Thanks. Agreed, will try to get some nighttime photos, unfortunately I was on a bit of a tight timeline, as I had to get the loaner back to Tesla!
