Pretty cool, I wonder if the 40 kW AC coupled will be when they release 3 phase capability?

Thanks for the video , really helpful to get this video. I have 2 feedback I live in Germany and have been speaking to installers about getting a powerwall 3 1. Features : in Germany all homes are 3 phase & since PW3 being single phase I don’t benefit from the 11.5kW but I’m limited to 4,6 KW because that’s the max available. 2. When can we see PW3 supporting 3 phase ? So we in German market can all benefit from the full power Installers 1. It’s quite new but the benefit of PW3 being easy to install this is not being shared with the customer. What I mean is if it’s easy the charges of installation should reduce but unfortunately I don’t see this happening

Thanks for your comment. I don't think it's likely that Tesla powerwall will ever support three-phase power fully. That's because in America almost all homes are single phase, three phase is just for commercial buildings. I agree with you. The cost savings for installers are likely to be pocketed as increased profit rather than being passed on to customers

Interesting to see compatibility of PW3 with existing PW2 or SolarEdge battery setups in future….🤔

They're not able to be installed together

hey mate, do they mention 3phase supply support anywhere in this presentation?

Bit if a glitch ~5:06 where they are speaking over each other.

Thanks for letting me know. That error occurred during the edit process but I only noticed a few hours after publishing on YT. Luckily it's only a few seconds. I didn't want to have to delete the video & repost as that would lose everyone's comments

Yeah he's not actually speaking, looks like a missed issue in the edit, no biggie.

I wonder if they are going to improve spare part supply? It's hard to get gateways replaced under warranty right now.
@NeeravBhatt3 ай бұрын
Thats curious. You'd think it would be a part they'd keep plenty of spares

How does Josef work for Tesla but cannot pronounce the name of the company he works for correctly? It's TeSSSla. It is not TeZZZla.

He pronounced it like Elon does.. so… I think it’s correct 😂 even though I say the S as and S

Same 13.5 kWh but. 3 years later I am lucky to get 10kwh a day out of my PW2, saving me what, $1.75 a day (21c/kwh cost less 3.5c/kw feed in tarrif= about saving $17.5c/kwh). @ $13500 thats a ROI of $21+ years, not even accounting for investing my $13500 in anything else, let alone my mortgage which would now be saving me $650 a year in interest! Man do I regret buying my PW. Stupid stupid idea.
@NeeravBhatt3 ай бұрын
Very sorry to hear that :( when you say you only get 10kWh a day do you mean the battery has deteriorated almost 30% already? That sounds unusually fast over 3yrs
@markwilliamson91993 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear that. For me the recent price drops of PW2 have made my payback period 5 years, so am getting one now. Time of use tariffs are the key, as I can push consumption of power after sunset past the peak price, into the off peak rate

How many solar panels do you have?
@guyb79953 ай бұрын
@@NeeravBhatt 1st thing is of that 13.5, Tesla won't let you access all of it anyway, only about 12 or 12.5 us 'usable' anyway even if you run to "0%". Then you keep maybe 5% for emergency outage so after I have emptied my battery capacity by about 9pm in in winter, or around 11pm in summer you have maybe enough to survive a short power outage. Financially it make very little difference. If you don't do that, you can't survive even a short outage. Then yes, the rest is battery degradation in that 3-4 year period. Time flies, I got mine installed mid CV19 pandemic.

@@markwilliamson9199 I'd love to hear the actual math on that, as the power plans I have seen that provide good after hours feed in rape you blind in other times.
