Installing 21 solar panel on comp shingles roof. With Tesla Powerwall 3.
8.5kW DC + 11.5kW AC output with 13.5kWh of capacity.

Clean job. I know the dolly is expensive, but man does it help. I have no problems mounting Powerwall by myself now. Hopefully you get one someday.

Perhaps some mesh is best used as a perimeter cover? PV cooling is a must + bird nesting protection.

I am installing the universal wall connector in hopes of getting a cybertruck to run my house on. Do i need to run a communication wire to the universal wall connector for power share to work? I do not see where the com wire would connect in the universal wall connector but another video I watched the guy said they ran a com wire so it's confusing. Thanks, love your install videos.

Curious - have you ever had any issue with cable insulation melting when you paint conduit pipe black on an roof like that? I would imagine they will get quite warm. Clean install as always, good job! :D

@@SolarEngineering the cables are usually rated for quite high temps. But I’m just thinking. Black metal is auch to touch. But not sure what the surface temp get to there.

However, the wire's ampacity may be reduced if the cable is bundled with other cables or is placed in high ambient temperatures. According to the National Electrical Code (NEC), a 50 amp circuit breaker should use 6 American Wire Gauge (AWG) copper wire or 4 AWG aluminum wire. For cables running 100 feet or less, this is the recommendation. 6-gauge wire can safely carry 50 amps for up to 100 feet

According to the NEC 310.16 Ampacities of Insulated Conductors with Not More Than Three Current-Carrying Conductors in Raceway: 6AWG: 55A (60C/140F) / 75A (90C/194F) Tesla Powerwall 3 can do continuous 11.5kW, which is 48A. We have to derate 60A breaker by 20% because it's continuous load, so we are getting 48A. Hopefully it's answer question.

​@@SolarEngineering 55 Amps is not 60. But your inspector bought it so WTF? I don't think this would fly in Washington state. Onward and upward. PS: 60C/140F is burning flesh. That's why we set hot water to 125F out the tap.
