I’m picking up model 3 performance this week fingers crossed. How much does it cost on superchargers if you have 10% remaining? Damn $36 bucks.. that is worth it. I have been driving to work on a Hyundai 2015 cost me $70 every other day in California and now that’s about to change.

Hope you get your Tesla soon. Congrats. All superchargers don’t charge the same depending on time, speed, and how busy they are. It could range anywhere from 15 bucks to 30 bucks maybe.

I know on my last trip it changed the charging stop the charging for weather added a 7 min stop.

Teslas are more of a hobby than a mode of long-haul timely transportation.

Works great for me as a daily and road trip vehicle. Put 21k miles on it in less than a year and saved about 3k in gas money which includes what I pay extra on my electric bill, not to mention at least 2-3 services at the dealership saving another $600 - $800.

@@RideAboutNow Teslas require so much more planning, and time if you use them for traveling long distances. Short haul is where they can shine.

Honestly it is not that bad. That was a concern for me as well but I went on an 850 miles one way trip took me 1 hour 15 minutes extra to get there. But I got there fresh. The 5 Charging stops varied from 5 minutes to 25 minutes enough time to walk around, stretch and maybe get a bite to eat. The longer range capability, teslas reliable vast supercharging network and the fast charging speeds make a huge difference over other Evs. I say so what if you get there and hour or so later than a gas car. It’s all about the adventure.

@@RideAboutNow I agree, but like I stated owning a tesla is not as practical if you do a lot of long haul in many directions as every charging station is a crap shoot, especially in cold climates. A liquid-fueled engine is a must-have for most people as a long hauler. EVs are not there yet as an option for most well-traveled people. Especially for the pickup truck market. As a second vehicle, a tesla will do fine inter-city or 300-mile road trips. I rarely worry about running out of fuel in my gas vehicle.

I feel like this is turning into an argument. Have you owned a Tesla? If so then you would know it’s not an issue at all. But other brands it’s a crap shoot with chargers. But the advantage with a Tesla is that their chargers are everywhere plus I can use non Tesla conventional chargers as well. Other brands you’re out of luck and I absolutely 100% agree with your points on the non Tesla ev brand vehicles. I wouldn’t go anywhere far in those and keep it to city use.
