I waited 18 months for my Model 3 so no problem waiting for a much better car. The Y is taller than the 3 so easier exit/entry and more comfortable. Juniper is supposedly to get better range so NO, I will wait for the Juniper

For someone that talks about Tesla 24/7, your take on the model 3 being a better car than current model Y is insane. Ventilated seats, ambient lighting make ZERO difference when you utilize the tech that comes with the current model Y. I live in South Florida and I’ve never needed ventilated seats because I use cabin control and pre-condition my car before entry every time. It’s so easy.

Model 3 highland is much better than current model Y if you don't need space or mid size SUV type car. The current model Y is old type Tesla and many features are outdated but if having big boot space and big size is must for you then go for it. But remember the model 3 highland is the cheapest car you can get for those features and it is one of the most or the most effective car right now, I mean test results from sommer showed it uses around 12,7 kwh/100km, that is insane for the money we pay. Offcourse consumption depends on weather, and other factors but similar results are shown by many other youtubers as well.

Your points for selecting a used or current Model Y are good. However, I'm still waiting for the Juniper. I live in FL and ventilated seats are an absolute must here - especially if your car is sitting in the Disney Land parking lot all day with no shade!

I’ve been researching and waiting for the juniper. I’d like to see what q4 offers for Tesla. I drove the model 3 highland, it’s a bit small for my liking, kept hitting my head getting in and out. I think we’d be bettter off waiting for the juniper. Or see what incentives q4 brings and lock in model y now.

For those precise reasons; Not knowing exactly when Juniper’s launching, price changes, the fact tax rebates may change AND I was able to transfer my FSD… I took delivery of a new Model Y a couple weeks ago! For me having come from a Model 3 to a new Y, it’s like getting on a new ride at Disneyland! 😂

You mentioned that ventilated seats could not be added - actually they can. There are several kits that add ventilation with controls on the sides of the seats. If travelling to Florida to Disney World or California to Disney Land, you would want to have ventilated seats because it is often very hot there.

I think it depends on the person situation. If someone need car and don't have car now either sold his/her old car then best option is to buy the current Model 3 which is the best car for its money and features or Y if they need big family car. However if someone already have Tesla model 3/Y but wants to upgrade to Model Y then it is much better to just use the current car for atleast 1 year, the reason is when Juniper comes to the market there will be a lot of changes to both Tesla upgrading, prices and models. Juniper will come with cheaper vertion but not quality interior for example the new model 3 in Mexico with out heat on the steer, not leather seat, etc. Juniper might also comes with less features and small battery as well. Then there will be more expensive and long range Juniper as well. The price will be higher but if you wait one year then it will go down.

Would you still strongly recommend the 2025 Tesla Model 3 for the 6’5” driver? The Model Y has always been my choice for the XTRA room throughout the car but I might be selling the Model 3 short 😅! Thoughts??

I’m 6’3 with a 23’ y performance and I think it’s perfect. My brother is 6’6 & has a model 3 Highland and all I hear about is the regret of not going with a y. He loves the features and changes of the refresh but hates the space for him and for any passengers sitting behind him. I’d say if it’s close, stick with the y in my opinion because when comparing the 2 (performance y vs LR 3) I don’t notice too much of a difference as far as driving experience. Plus personally I hate “climbing out of a car” as a taller driver when it comes to sedans . Hope it helps

Battery companies insiders have confirmed Model Y Will bring CATL Shenxing Plus battery and BYD Blade 2.0, with energy density more than 200W/kg and charge up to 550kW if platforms is 800V. Let's hope. Juniper gets 800V platform. Anyway range will increase more than 10% up to 20% from previous model. Here in Europe late February, early march delivered should be taking place.

My dad took us to Disneyland when we were kids, back in the early, early 70's. I'm thinking 1971. When the rides still had tickets associated with them. And the good rides were the 'E' ticket rides. I haven't been in quite a few years. But, my favorite ride remains the very start of the Peter Pan ride. Now, as to the Model Y refresh... my son had a 2020 Model Y. (A deer on the highway ended that. My son is okay. Thank you, Tesla. Of course... the deer jumped out pretty fast, and the Tesla did not swerve to avoid it. Totaled the Tesla. Totaled the deer. My son: just shaken up.) At any rate... when he had it, he let me drive it around, and I enjoyed it okay. I do like the amount of space in the cabin. Except for one thing: Where the driver's side wheel well is, the interior bump is too big, and my left foot had to sit at a peculiar angle. To the point where it was uncomfortable. There wasn't anywhere else to put my foot. Now... recently, I test drove one of the refreshed model 3's. I am not a big fan of sedans, mostly because they sit too low to the ground, and the opening to get in and out of the vehicle is just too short for my frame. But... (and this is a big one)... once I managed to fold myself into the vehicle, where the wheel well was, my foot was able to rest at a normal angle. So, as I was driving, the experience was very nice. My son's Model Y was extremely loud, and bumpy, and just rough. The model 3 was really nice. Smooth, quiet, and comfortable. I tell you what: we live in the South, and ventilated seats are an absolute must! I will not ever have another vehicle that does not have that feature. Period. So... I'm hoping that the refreshed Model Y will take the queue from the new Model 3, and fix that wheel well issue. (For what it's worth, I pointed it out to the Tesla rep in the showroom. He said he had received the same comment from multiple people. So... here's hoping.) Actually... (and, I'm not holding out any hope for it appearing in my lifetime), I hope that Tesla will come out with a minivan with the sliding side doors. I drove a Honda Odyssey for 20+ years, and the sliding driver's side door is the single best feature of any vehicle I have ever driven. Bar none. Model X is a vehicle which is big enough for me, but those Karate Kid doors are... well... they're cool the first time you see them. Then, they're just mechanically complicated, and represent multiple points for failure. If the best part is no part, and the best process is no process, the falcon wing doors represent many parts and many processes. It seems counter-intuitive to Tesla's mission. Just saying. Nope... just simple, automatic sliding side doors for me. So that I don't have to worry about that door dinging a neighboring car. Was never a problem with my kids. I don't have the minivan anymore, and it's not that I don't trust the Grandbaby... but he's 4, and rambunctious. When he's 5... it would be nice to be driving something with a sliding door, vs a spring-loaded back door which is difficult to keep from fully extending. Forcefully. Already had to cancel M3LR that was a 9 month wait February last year due to delayed insurance partial house / garage rebuild (fire) which after almost 4 yrs is almost done, so prepared to wait for MY Juniper… really hoping prices won’t increase much…. Here in Australia both base versions approx 60K au drive away…. Also saved myself well over 12k waiting…. Every cloud has a silver lining… have decided Model Y is more practical, easier to get in and out of…. also hoping that LR version has LFP chem. as this will be a cash purchase and I want the vehicle to last at least 10 yrs…. There is also increasingly good competition with decent new Chinese brands coming to my market- Zeekr, Xpeng, BYD etc hoping this will ensure Tesla prices drop even further…. est. brand and concerns over longevity of warranty claims just in case.

You are so wrong . I would wait for AI 5 . Tesla y 2021 is slow intel Celeron processor. The best option is you want the tax credit . All is uncertain on the market dependents in this November election . You don’t think it a factor this country either will crash hard , or attempts to recover from the last 3.5 years . I would not buy anything . All major corporations are laying off. From executive to the bottom . There are computer company have to layoff 30k workers to bring the employees under 100k , order for the stocks to survives . It’s known announcement 2 years ago.

Loved our M3LR+ Perf Boost. But, decided to upgrade to MYP, as it is so much more roomy and convenient to put grandchildren into their kid's seats, through the bigger rear doors, under the taller roofline and their clobber into the much bigger boot with its hatchback. Took 3 adults and their luggage to the airport only this am in the MYP, that we could not have done in an M3. We will supplement our MYP with a Juniper MYP when it arrives in the UK. I want to replace my diseasal Ford Ranger with its lousy auto gearbox a ridiculous wet cambelt nonsense, in early 2025. But, the new Ford Ranger plug-in hybrid has a ridiculously small battery, pathetic 2.3 turbo petrol for when the battery runs out and Cybertruck is nowhere in sight in the UK market - especially as it surely cannot pass EU pedestrian safety legislation with it's front quarter, pedestrian body tissue slicing design. BYD have a new plug-in hybrid pickup truck with bigger battery that might make more sense, if I can wait for it to come to UK. EV developments are just too slow for our liking.
