Thank you for going to the service center and getting the clunking checked out. Saved me a trip because I too will not be paying Tesla $7500 for a drive unit. Guess I’ll be driving with ear plugs on and the volume up until the wheels fall off. 😂

I live in Sweden and my Tesla Model S 85D is almost 9 years now and after warrenty Tesla are simply not interested in helping me with anything anymore. If they do anything, they just replace bad parts with new instead of repair. Therefore I dont go to Tesla when I have a problem with my car or want to service it. I have found two very good repairshops that works on Tesla and do repair even on battery or motors instead of just replacing it. They have saved me thousands of dollars and done a very good job this far. Thank you for great videos!!

I think my P85 is having the same problem. I don't drive it aggressively often, mostly to do quick passes. Now I hear a big clunking sound when accelerating/ decelerating. I'll bring it to my garage next week and see what happens 🤞

Keep us posted on progress of the $900 fix from your shop. If successful, this would be great news. Its a heavy car, all lux are heavy and rubbers are first things to get replaced...Even Lexus LS400 is not bullet proof. Regardless, this proves that Tesla is intentionally driving the value of Model S out of 8 year warranty to the cliff so that customers will keep upgrading to their newer cars. Nothing new. Merc and BMW does that same tactics but TESLA is at a whole different level, as you stated in video, $15k refurbished batter y and $7k drive unit, 2 replacement parts bill is almost twice the value of the car itself. At least the GERMAN cars isnt that quick at putting the owner underwater! We need Chinese BYD and good competition in the USA market NOW. But unfortunately, Tesla only game in town and calling all the shots.

That is not repair. That is part swapping and this is the normal practice of Tesla at our expense. Shame on Tesla. I plan to buy used Tesla and I plan to do repair myself. F. Tesla for ripping off consumer. I like their car NOT their repair rip off practice.

The problem with trying to do this yourself is it's hard to get parts
