Tesoro Vaquero Demo Part 2 "Jewelry" by '53Silver

This is a demo on how I use the Tesoro Vaquero. This is an excellent MD and goes with me on all my hunts.

great demonstration! I have a silver umax and love the discrimination ability and especially the target separation. I have gone back to sights I've detected before and found lots of coins my vdi machines could not pick out. Tesoro is great!

Its a great md and the one I use 90% of the time, especially in parks. I use my Compadre and my MXT as well.

@kizzee87 Great! That cutlass is an excellent md. The "V" is extreemly deep and has very good target resolution. When I'm hunting jewelry and coins I'll simply dig all good signals with my "V" set at the line just before the nickel setting. For coins only, I'll set the disc just before nickel and use the disc to ID targets. Good hunting, Mike

@LurkerCam - Depth with the V is pretty easy as it relates to coins. I know that my V is good to about 7 - 8 inches with coins, based on where I have it set, so I just lift the unit above the target and do the math. If I'm up 5 inches above the target, then my coin is 2 - 3 inches down. I'm usually close. One of my videos speaks to this.

@mjcz5853 Part 2 - Setting the threshhold to 3 o'clock will give you a consitant tone, in stegnth, all the way to the maximum depth. For me, I set this to register a dime at 7 inches, max. I don't need to listen to a faint signal it either there or it's not. I do back my threshhold to 1 o'clock at times but not too often. I found it's easy to miss a target if you miss a faint tone. Take you detector and try it for your self in both settings, it's just another very cool option on the "V".

@LurkerCam This where you need to make a decision, to dig or not to dig. Most gold rings will fall in a VDI range of 0 to 40 or so, which is the same range as some steel, nickels, pul tabs, bottle caps, etc. If you are coin shooting then stick to your cut-off points for the various coins, if your also looking for gold jewelry, you'll need to dig everything.

It's an excellent detector, right now it's the best I've used. And I've had them all from $250 machines to $1,500 detectors.

@GradyJarrell - Part 1 - So here is the difference between the 3 o'clock position and setting the threshhold at GB setting. First, they both have their place and both are effective. If you set the threshhold at the GB setting, which is usually somewhere between the 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock on my "V", you get a diminishing signal with a deeper target. This is a great setting as it will give you an idea of depth p the fainter the signal the deeper your target.

Sure will, but, you have to understand that this is not designed for gold nuggets, and wont hit anything really small. A gold (nugget) detector will usually have a higher frequency such as 17kHz - 20kHz or so. Basically they designed weighted to the gold range. Check out the Tesoro Lobo for true gold nugget hunting, it's outstanding.

Michael, do you have a fisher f75 that you can do a video showing how to use discrimination for hunting jewelry? I find that mixed targets are hard to deal with using the f75.

Hey Michael. I have the DFX as well, I hunt primarily on the sand at the salty beach. I do and have found some nice coins there. Do you have any recommended settings in the coin and jewelry mode or jewelry beach mode? I would like to hunt as deep as i can at the same time having the detecter as stable as it can be. What would you run the AC sensitivity at? and the DC sensitivity at? I have the standard Eclipse 950 coil on the DFX. Thanks any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Why do you set TH to 3O'clock after GB ing? I leave mine where its just audiable while ground balance, then set the Disc to on and go, what have i been missing?

If you found any 35% silver war time nickel with this detector, It will notch out differently.

You mentioned that this machine will get jewelery, coins and gold. You detected on the gold ring but it is plated in gold unlike a gold nugget. Maybe the machine just hit on the base metal of the ring rather than the gold on the ring. Will this machine actually detect a real gold nugget? If so, if one is looking for gold nuggets what setting would you suggest?

Hey Mike, thanks again for doing all the vids, I was wondering if there is a way to adjust volume in headphones on the machine, or do you need phones with built in volume control? Thanks again, enjoy your attention do detail. Would still like to see someone hunting a regular field or foundation type site with this thing too!!!..😀

Vaquero is better than Garrett 150 . Why ? Because is deeper by 5 cm, and nothing more. This machine is a relict itself.
