The truth is, Tess is trying to make money. She doesn't care about fat people. She cares about her net worth. I imagine there is some truth in her book, but she probably didn't even write the book herself. Who knows if her brother is lying, or if he's being honest. But can we believe an obese woman who claims to be anorexic, but also likes to post videos of herself binge eating? Usually anorexics don't want to be seen eating at all. Support Tess if you find her entertaining. Don't expect any authenticity from her, though.

It's just so shocking she's LYING about having anorexia. Also body dysmorphia and anorexia don't always go hand in hand. Just yesterday I had an appointment with my ED therapist, and I asked her about Tess as we were wrapping up. She says it’s possible since we can’t see everything going on on someone else’s life through social media, but it’s EXTREMELY unlikely and she PERSONALLY doesn’t think she’s anorexic
@mattheweveland83353 жыл бұрын
I could see atypical anorexia, but likely more associated with depression/depressive episodes. Something that can be common in people with BED as well-- which, if you are over 300lbs you most likely do have. You just get disgusted with yourself for overeating and become depressed, and can resort to many of the same things people with anorexia do to make themselves skinny. They're often just not sustained. So you're just cycling through these ups and downs. Now does that make someone anorexic? I mean... that's a pretty shallow reading of the situation to get there. And really atypical anorexia may not even be the best description for that. It's just what we have. It's also worth pointing out that people like that typically really hate their bodies, which... is pretty off brand for her. And though there's certainly something to be said for loving the person you are, we shouldn't be taking that to the point where we are not only normalizing BED, but celebrating it. I'm also not sure how realistic it is to just demand all of society change their beauty standards/what they find attractive just to validate yourself.
@anaborja97243 жыл бұрын
@@mattheweveland8335 this is so well explained, and I couldn’t agree more. There’s a fine line between living yourself and normalizing unhealthy habits. @youdontneedtoknowwhoiam66403 жыл бұрын
@@mattheweveland8335 if you binge then try and make up for it the next day by eating nothing/extremely small amounts of food that is a form of purging. Tess is so frustrating to me. I hate the way she feels like she can just 'opt out' of being obese or unhealthy like it's something you decide to be? Omg I legit made a similar comment! Honestly wouldnt be surprised if Tess has been taking others' stories like Shannon took what she did to Emily and passed it as it being "Amy." Both Tess and Shannon virtue signal a lot but are rather snarky when called out and don't accept their mistakes. Plus Tess has narcissism airs. Tbh so did Shannon but Tess is more of a grandiose narcissist whereas Shannon is a vulnerable narcissist.

@@vania7302 The fact that she claimed she was diagnosed with a form of anorexia, despite not showing the signs of it, whether obvious or not, definitely makes me wonder if what everything she preaches is fact. I remember Michelle had made a video regarding that subject, including just what the symptoms of anorexia and its multiple forms are, while giving evidence that Tess doesn't necessarily follow said symptoms. I'm still not going to point fingers and call people liars, since we have no concrete proof, and for all we know, she DOES have some form of anorexia, but I'm still gonna be suspicious of everything about her, positive or negative.

It seems to be a trend with prolific liars. I had a friend who was addicted to lying about the most inconsequential stuff, nothing malicious. But she would tell everyone she had friends that didn't exist, took their names and personalities straight out of books.

I started to just barely feed into the body positive movement because I had gained like 20 lbs during quarantine, and as someone who’s always been into health and fitness (weightlifting, being nutritionally conscious) I couldn’t seem to lose that weight no matter what I did, so I started convincing myself that this was just my body now and I need to learn to accept it/love it. Well that didn’t last long, haha. I realized if I literally counted calories and exercised to stay in a caloric DEFICIT, I’d lose weight. And I DID 👏🏻🎉👏🏻 I had to treat weight loss like a scientific formula. Now I realize that when it comes to weight loss, there’s always something you can do to make yourself a healthier weight.
