@@bubbles574 some people really look pregnant when they’re aren’t. I can’t believe people still ask/do that. My mom has a thyroid problem that literally makes her belly ROUND like round. But the rest of her is proportionate. She’s in her early 50s and people still ask her if it’s a boy or a girl. Makes her want to recoil into a rock and die. at least that’s what she said 😂

My parents as a side job used to clean this GP clinic near us in the evenings and my brother and I just being kids would go with them and wait in the waiting area until they were done. Since this was pre-2011 and smartphones and tablets were pretty much non existent or extremely expensive at that time these trashy magazines were all I had to entertain myself while we were waiting. Okay. I have to share this because we're talking body positivity and swimsuits. So, my daughter wanted to go to the waterpark. I wanted to take her but I didn't have time to shave my legs and had some visible stubble. (Like a quarter inch. Not that noticeable, but up close you could see it.) I said, "Eff it. It's the damn water park. Who's gonna care?" I get there. We swim. Hit some slides. Then I decide to sit down in the sun for awhile and read while my daughter goes around with some friends. Two very plus-sized women walk past my chair, see my legs and go, "Oh my Gawd! Really!?!" I just stared at them through my shades, like I was daring them to say anthing else. After a second, they just sucked their teeth and moved on. So, eff THEIR beauty standards. #Nobitcheffyourbeautystandards

One time I last minute shaved this line that I didn't know poked out of my one piece and I go out look down my shit is bleeding. I always have a delayed bleed when I have a nick. I had a pair of shorts to put on at least.😱 🥴 I had never worn a one piece before. I have a few and they are all cute and I still don't wear them. I was going through this independent phase too where I didn't want to shave anything unless I knew somebody would see it buuut I'm pretty sure that ended it. It took so long to get presentable and then I had to figure out how much more to do on the fly and it stung pretty bad.

unfortunately he did then torture himself to lose 22 pounds in 10 weeks, these images were promo for his health show on Netflix. He didn't lose the 22 but worked out like 3 times before 11am every day and ran himself into the ground, he totally transformed in that time but still had a defeated attitude throughout a lot because 22 pounds in 10 weeks is insane considering he was also gaining muscle in that time. (edit: to clarify, he did initially gain the weight for a movie as the above comment says, but he shared these images of his 'out of shape body' not actually to be inspirational, but to promo his new diet show). (further edit: I said Netflix but now I'm thinking it might have been a series on KZbin since he's partnered with them in some way, right? Not sure).

It’s sad that so many famous women get procedures done as they age that everyday women think they need to be toned, wrinkle free, and have perky boobs to be attractive at 50. When did aging become unattractive? I see aging as the biggest positive. Many people never get to see old age! So embrace the laugh lines and wrinkles.

I'm scared to not recognize my face in the mirror. You can accept aging but c'mon, everybody would love to keep their 20 yo plumpy skin, health and vitality. Aging - physically - is not enjoyable for most people. We just try to reassure ourselves with the ''aging is beautiful'' narrative. When I see my dad who's 68 yo beginning to lose his awesome physical abilities as a long-term alpinist and very sportive man, I find it just sad

And so many of them are like 70, I expect from people who reach 70 to just be alive and be happy, I don't put such high demands as - yo, you gotta have that beach bod, even if you're 70 we don't care.
