Thanks for this video! Just got my new monitor, a Dell 1440p one - I might have a very slight backlight bleed in a corner, but since I nearly always play in a well lit room and 80% brightness, there won't be much major issue here bcs I don't really see it from the test. Also, no dead pixels detected here ^^

@@MidnightPodcast I have 16 years old Eizo Nanao HD2441 Monitor, S-PVA 10bit panel (advertised if I remeber correctly). The backlight bleed is almost unoticable (it is so small) and this is in a dark room without lights turned on and 16 years of use, there is no glow at all as well. The colors are the best I have seen from a desktop monitor till date and the blacks are almost like an OLED panel! The only dowside for this monitor is the design and the low refresh rate. I have tried for many years to replace it with something better and more modern, but always ended up returning back the new monitors I bought due terrible picture look compared to the Eizo. I have comparission pics with one modern LG IPS monitor made a year ago and if I find where I put them I'll post for you guys to see what I'm talking about, it's brutal:D

I got the Cooler Master GM27-FQS when I tried it I felt that the IPS glow and backlight bleed was not okay for a 470USD Gaming Monitor. then I ordered a replacement and when it arrived I never had the chance to return the original one in the week days long story short, the new replacement arrived, when I turned it on and put them side by side of the original one was better and they both had the same amount of backlight bleed and IPS glow surprisingly the new one had a lot of dead pixel. which the old one doesn't either way I return both of them it wasn’t worth the money and bought the Pixio Px275c sure it’s only 100 Hz which I couldn’t tell the difference from a 144 and probably less color accurate but hey it’s almost half the price with a coupon I had a perfect unit with no that pixels are stuck pixels and at least they bothered putting it in a large box inside a box which manage to protect the unit during shipping, The cooler master came with us original box only!

Weird thing is i only have the problem on youtube not on any other video streaming site nor on video's played from hdd or my windows screen. When i start youtube in mini player setting it then is exactly in the middle off the top of the video screen just above were the youtube icon appears when the mouse is moved. You should expect at least some level of IPS glow on every IPS monitor you purchase. If you're expecting a monitor to have none of this natural glow, then don't get a display with an IPS panel. IPS is a kind of LCD technology that uses a backlight.
