Great video. Sums up the performance of the Barnes bullet quite well. The 300 BLK addicts out there already know about this Barnes bullet. Those who handload already have some loaded up. Handload muzzle velocity in a 16” carbine is 2450 fps - the fastest I’ve seen for this caliber. It performs extremely well and (unlike most other .308 cal bullets) it will expands at lower velocities. That means proper terminal expansion performance well past 300 yards. One could easily make the argument that it is the ultimate 300 BLK bullet. But one of its features will hold you back - price. Barnes is very proud of their bullets. If money is no object, go for it. You’ll be a satisfied customer. But there is another option that is my go-to bullet: the 110 gr Nosler Varmageddon. Cheaper. 2415 fps. Same low velocity expansion. And perhaps even more devastating in a target (in my case feral hogs). I am not a paid representative of any company. Just adding my 2¢ to this discussion. Opinions are like bellybuttons... everybody’s got one.

Very well summation of the 300 BLK Barnes blacktips. My testing criterion is how they perform on Texas feral hogs... I have found over years of going to Texas to hunt these animals that anything that will perform effectively, and repeatedly, on these tough animals will work for anything I might need it for. Never tried the Nosler's. Hard to go away from what works. The Barnes never let me down.

@@Yashiro-nene_dies because the 300 blackout round was originally designed to replace the suppressed MP5SDs that special forces teams were using prior to its invention. That’s probably why he’s comparing 9mm performance to the .300blk.

@@inferninx It was designed to replace the MP5. The ability to suppress it was major factor as well as doing it with a platform that is more familiar with the added bonus of a round with better terminal ballistics and power factor. @timewave020123 жыл бұрын
I have an engineering degree. At a casual level, exterior ballistics without air resistance is worth understanding, and often taught in high school, but accounting for air resistance gets tedious. You're better off punching numbers into a good ballistics calculator (search for JBM simplified trajectory) to get a "feel" for how different calibers and bullet shapes and weights perform at different velocities. Terminal ballistics is even more difficult-so much that I don't think there's any theoretical substitute for actual performance tests.

This round works very well on big game. We took a blue wildebeest at 55 yards from a Ruger American with a single shot in South Africa. The bull went 15 yards and fell dead. Also took blesbuck, jackal and a warthog. All shots were under 150 yards. I have also used the bullet and rifle combination to take a doe pronghorn and a doe whitetail. Bullet performance and expansion was impressive. This rifle and ammunition combo shoots sub MOA groups and I would recommend this set up, with a Burris 2x7x35 full field II. Perfect for youth, women and new shooters due to the very low recoil.

These new copper bullets remind me of a friggin “ninja star” when it hits. I would say a broadhead arrow, but it’s spinning and tumbling is more like the Ninja Star.

A ninja star that happens to be moving fast enough that it pulverizes inches of tissue around it. Ouchie.

14" or 16" Barrel for supersonic 110gr bullet. The guns you used would be great for heavier sub sonic.

Love these historical vids of when you could actually buy ammo and the weapons to shoot em. Ah, the good old days. Well, gotta go get in the bread line. L8r.

If memory serves this bullet was designed to expand down to 1300 FPS, so it should give excellent performance in any 300 blk.

Here is the question...300 blackout or FK Brno 7.5, if you only had enough money for 1? Thank you for the continuing great videos!
@Militaryarmschannel3 жыл бұрын
300BLK because it's available in pistols or rifles and it more flexible in its capabilities. I would love to see a 7.5FK carbine.
@xcoldone17683 жыл бұрын
@@Militaryarmschannel Thanks Tim! 7.5FK carbine...I would love to see that as well.

Thank you for a excellent and very complete video. Too bad you didn't use a fleece bullet stop behind the "meat target" but that's ok because your testing was already more thorough than any I've ever seen.

Superb round in my 16" that I load for. Has dropped several hogs at 100 yards. I load their 120's for my self defense pistol. Shot a coyote at exactly 175 trotting. Very accurate, more so with the 110.

Not sure if they would fit in the magazine, but wouldn't mine seeing a 110gr Spitzer in a .30 M1 Carbine case. It would improve the BC over the round nose.

That Barnes 110 TSX is crazy. Loaded some in 308. Took a hog with it. Pass through at 120yds. Bang flop. Hog was maybe 150lbs. Accurate in my Howa. I would not push it much farther. Loses energy pretty fast.
