I laugh when people complain about cars not having the "original engine". Back when we drove these cars as our regular transportation, we would change out an engine when one went bad. In fact, I owned a '68 SS396 Camaro. I really wanted to change it out for a 327. Sure the car was fast but burned lots of gas and needed constant attention. I ended up selling the car because I couldn't save up the money for the 327. We never had any idea these cars would be worth so much money. Such was life in the '70's!

I never bought a car like a GTO or GTX Impala that I worried about gas consumption. I bought them because I wanted the power. 64 impala 327 350 horse, 66 GTO tri-power, and a 68 Plymouth GTX 440. To say it’s ok to change an engine is one thing to expect it to be as valuable as a matching numbers is ridiculous. At least put the correct type motor in it. Or take the badge saying SS 396 off it and fill the holes.

Nice Ride!! Real SS Convertible! Interesting that someone put in a 400. If it's a '70-72 block, 4 bolt main THAT would be a good choice for HP. The '73-80 400s were all 2 bolt mains. Obviously not an original motor, but would have been just as nice with a 396 or even a nice 327. Still, nice driver as it is!! Thanks again, Nick!!

Hi Nick, thank you for showing the gas, brake, and clutch pedals. That POV is important to me when I consider purchasing a classic car. I've spoken with your father and you on the telephone about the '67 Chrysler Imperial y'all sold a month ago. Good vibes from the get go!

Looks like it was painted 25years ago front seat covers don't match rear seat which is correct missing big block time for a total redo but it is driveable now make it a large winter project

With the right amount of capital to invest and the correct know how, someone could turn this Chevelle into an absolute STUNNER.

This old 66 Chevelle SS is a diamond in the ruff and she is just weighting for her night and shining armor. For the front bucket seat's came out of a 69. For this car just hit me like a ton of bricks, during that time, my military bros came after me in order to get me out of the house, you see this was year a later after my wife died from cancer and they damn neigh put there foot up my ass in order to get me out of my funk. For this story is way to long and remember that she is a diamond in the ruff and just is weighting for night and shining armor. For this man came to us in 2017 to restore his dads car that died in1968 in Nam, so I hope you understand the rest of the story . Old ,,Master Gunnery SGT USMC. ,

What is the difference between 396 and 400 big block?
@chasbuchanan41954 ай бұрын
400 isn't a big block
@1969BBC4 ай бұрын
the 400 is a small block with longer stroke and bore, the 402 is a big block that is just a .30 over 396 right from the factory.

You keep down talkin mileage. Why don't you carfax these cars?
@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate4 ай бұрын
Doesn’t go back that far
@shaggyofwv4 ай бұрын
Carfax doesn’t tell you everything. Accidents/damage only show up if they were claimed on insurance. And that is not 100% always reported. I’ve seen the wrong mileage listed on carfax also because someone entered it in wrong at a dealership service department.
