My Dad had a 70 Super Bee that was all dark green with a black vinyl top. It was equipped very similar with the 383. I think his had a tach instead of a clock, though. The bench seat was nice he let me take the car when I went out on a date.

I was always amazed at how many of these 68 - 72 Mopars were automatics on the column. A friend of my brother had a '71 Cuda with the 440 six pack that was a column shift auto. Just seems weird to me.

Back in the 80’s I bought a ‘70 ‘Cuda and a ‘70 Charger. Both factory 4 speed Dana. I never bothered to look at the automatics. 😀 I still have them. 😁

The 440 and 425 Hemi get all the accolades but the 383 HO could keep pace w/ pretty much anything. That's a great engine.

383? Same engine my high school '71 New Yorker. If it's the same carb when you take the air cleaner off you would swear you could put a fist down one of the secondarys. Only car I have ever owner that I ran out of gas and was still doing 70 mph a mile later.
