Although I prefer the '68-'70 years, the 1971-'74 Charger is still a mean Mopar. 318 is too small...

@@robertcox7220 That or the legendary 426 Hemi. Now, 318 isn't a bad V8, but it's not fitting for a classic Charger.

A 360 would be a good motor. A lot longer stroke gave it a lot more low end torque which you need with a heavier car like this.

Back then if you wanted an intermediate size two door sedan the Charger was the only option. If you wanted a four door you got the Coronet. Probably why they had such a variety of motors options, from snoozer to cruiser.

@@deniseb3897 at the time nothing came close to the legendary 426 Hemi, but the 440 Magnum, especially the 440/6 was the best of the rest.

I've ran into that wiper hanging problem on these cars before, those aftermarket blade holders need to go! There taller than stock, all you need to do is order the stock ones from a vendor and problem solved! Nice 74 Nick!

@@MapleMotorsNickSouthgate Nick, what do you think is driving the classic car craze as of late?!? I follow you guys, and can't believe how fast your cars and others go at other places. It's unreal. That hole in the dash brings back memories...it probably was done in the late 70's with the install of the old box type Fuzzbuster (Gen 1) have with a light you could install in the dash that lit up when radar was detected.

Not a fan of that year but this is one sweet driver. No speed demon but a very reliable engine. Great stance and choice of wheels. Bet it sold fast. Side note-when you see a Grant steering wheel, bet on the horn not working.

There were some late 70's/80's cars that were great like Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme, Monte Carlo had some nice ones and the Buick Grand National, el Camino was still great and of course the Grand Torino. I once had a '73 , very much like this one ; NOT an SE (hated that look)--a 340 "magnum" (not much "Magnum" in a 1973). White car, black vinyl roof, w/a black highlighted hood bump, power steering & brakes-nice. Crank windows, not so nice. White interior, floor auto w/a console. Sold it since I was going to the PI--big mistake. SAD episode all the way around; first I lost my fiancee, then I sold the car. Should've stored it because a nicely done/fully restored '73/'74 is now so far north $$ wise of this '74 @ $22K it makes my head spin. This Charger is someone's attempt @ hot rodding--more like an abortion; didn't even change out the column shift. The Flow's make it sound bad-ass, but as a puny 318 it's a gussied up granny car. Power steering? Not according to Nick. Power brakes ? NOPE. Yup, this baby needs work, so I guess $22K is an ok price, because it starts, stops, & runs pretty good. And the body appears to be in great shape. Me buy it? He*l yeah!
