MY 25 year old son is into cars and as a car guy nothing makes me happier. He loves El Caminos cause they're "half car and half truck!" and as long as he loves Chevys im good with it..

Every time I see one of these El Camino's I get the song "Sharing The Night Together" by Dr. Hook stuck in my head. Anyone that's seen the movie "El Camino" will know what I'm talking about. Nick should do a cover tune of that song and play it when he test drives these 80's style Camino's.

Thsts funny I used to help a friend of mine hang sheet rock he had a nice 71 el Camino with the 8 track tape of Dr hook so I used to hear sharing the nite together a 100 times a day

Depends on the hood lol. Right now, I think the younger people prefer Stellantis backed Dodge vehicles. The older people are still G-Bodies and Fox bodies. The generation older than that....B-Bodies.

305 in a ss?

It's like the 442 of this era had the same motor with 150 HP too
@spankthemonkey34374 жыл бұрын
@@FloridaBiker-t3b he'd be surprised what a 305 will do I had a 307 in an 1983 98 regency Oldsmobile. Big ass car like a rusted out Cadillac with a measly 307😳. The car would barely get up and go but 60 mph to well over 100 is where it shined on acceleration. In 2002 I could walk down mustangs on the hwy. They would get me on takeoff after about 60 to 70 they would seem like stop walking away after 100mph I would start passing them back. I told a few of the guys I raced dont let off the gas I'm going to pass you back they always laugh but that deer in the headlights look though as I passed them at about 130mph said it all. That 307 with big Rochester 4brl carb would pull I'd say to 140 ish mph. That 2.60 to 2.70 something rear gear probably had alot to do with it too.

@@spankthemonkey3437 I actually have a 84 el Camino with a 305 and it’s not as good as you’re saying. Yeah when it’s warmed up it’s got some kick to it but it’s no racer. I’m planning on a ls swap
@dylanwebster2834 жыл бұрын
@@79royalknight43 do you mean in the ss? My 84 conquista has a 305
@spankthemonkey34374 жыл бұрын
@@dylanwebster283 try some wide open races your sure to surprise yourself and others too unless you got a lower gear rear end then no need to try it. You could also put a 4.56 or something in the 5.11 rear gear and run pretty good on the 1/8 and 1/4 mile tracks. my dad pulled a 70s roll back about 200 yards wide open in 4wd low in 1st gear in his 86 GMC high Sierra with a 305 through some slippery azz mud. No rev limiter on it at all. It just turned up until it didn't turn no more and stayed at probably 7,000+ rpms for about 200 yards across a field. Don't underestimate the little gm 5 liter engines. They are tougher than you think. A good cam head swap and intake and you can be looking at 400hp a 100 to 150 shot even a 200 shot of nitrous isn't too much for the stock bottom end as long as you have piston ring gap for nitrous for extra assurance add some arp rod bolts king bearings and arp head bolts too. For less than the cost of a ls engine and accessories computer and everything to make it run you can turn that stock bottom end 305 into 600hp screamer
