As a kid growing up in the 80s, you could find at least a half dozen of these in every parking lot. It seemed every school administer was driving one of these. It's in great shape (had to be some old principal that kept it in a garage) and you won't break the bank maintaining it with after-market parts. The interior is magnificent (from my perspective, brand new) for a 40 year old car. It's quiet on the road too.

This car brings back so many awesome, and wonderful, memories! My grandparents had one, a dark blue one, back in the latter part of the 1980s, when I was around 10yo, or under. So many great times we all had when I was a kid in that car; so many outings we had, and trips to restaurants, and everywhere else too. My gpa passed in 1999, and my gma continued to drive it until it finally died, ironically, not too long after that. My gma didn't pass away until the middle of 2020, during Covid but thankfully, not from, or due to that, so there are only memories that remain now. This video, randomly appearing in my feed, especially on New Years Eve, was a nice surprise though, one which brought back a lot of great memories. Thank you. 🙂

That Olds 307 is a good and reliable motor, it doesn't make a ton of power and you'd be better off swapping it for a chevy 350 if you really want access to power via cheap mods. But the motor as is will last forever, my family had a 1983 Buick Electra Wagon with the same motor and it was pretty much indestructible. We also had the same exhaust leak noise, it was the header gaskets. Dad and I knocked out that fix on a Saturday afternoon.

Very nice crusier. I'm a sucker for a nice Cutlass. Speaking of Grandma's car, years and years ago I had a good friend with a white '83 Brougham, full power with a burgundy plush pillowtop interior it was grandma's car with grandma's wire wheels and all.. but it hauled balls, hauled us everywhere we needed to go as twenty something year old kids, it was like riding on a cloud.

Had one of these before. Torque was great and power was authoritative until you hit 2800 rpm or so and then you hit the brick wall for acceleration as it would rev much higher but with no forwarded momentum whatsoever. Just the way the engine was built with all the emissions control purposefully keeping it from breathing any higher.
