For this EL is easy a long the way, for she just needs a few odds ends and to make her better in that way. For some oil that is not that good for older cars today, for pure syndetic will reseat those valves and stop the burn a long the way. After 3K change the oil and see if that burn go's away, for many of my trucks today that have at lest 250 K today and do not burn oil in any way. For maintenance is the key and they will always last for you and me. For I love this old EL and the price is something to see.

Smoke.... I'm thinking valve seals? The more I see just about any model El Camino.... they grow on ya; definitely needs a muffler & weather stripping upgrade. Just as the video posted.... 🤔 a $9,900 car -no vinyl extensions necessary.... but a GOOD entry level into the "classic" market.
