If they allowed this into the US, it would wipe out Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Cadillac, Lexus, and Genesis. In fact BYD would wipe out the entire American, Canadian, Mexican, German, French, and English manufacturers. This is why tariff walls are going up around the world. They could probably sell a 400HP EV version of the same car for under $30,000 and on top of it all, it's damn good looking.

The Chinese can sell it at such low prices because they have set up the biggest supplier base.... along with thier manufacturing.... on the planet. For couplers, for electronics that require PCBs, for steering wheels, etc...a car company has an option 20-30 suppliers....they can choose the best and cheapest offer from the suppliers. Then they pass on that cost savings to consumers. Unlike European who always overprice thier products.

Jusy buy the all-electric version. Or if you can't afford the Denza GT and want a Wagon/Estate/Shooting Brake you might consider the Neta S Hunter Wagon. It has good performance, looks similar and cost half the price. Lot of new Wagons coming out of China now, which is great. And what the Wagon/Estate/etc has always been good at - Saloon car safety, performance and handling, and SUV cargo carrying ability, at a lower price. Maybe the love affair with the SUV genre is on the wane. EDIT: It's coming to the UK/Europe.

There is maintenance as the transmission oil has to changed if you want your transmission to last. Electric motor bearings can wear out or fail. There are coolants to be maintained. Tires wear out faster due to the weight of the car. You still have to lubricate the door hinges, change windshield wiper blades, brakes last longer but they still need to be replaced. Shock absorbers need to be replaced periodically. Drive shafts need to be replaced. There is less maintenance in some areas and more in some but to say no maintenance is obviously wrong.

The chinese people buy it because of its price and patriotism. 4:41 now again comparing neweset cars to old maybachs which were been engineered several years ago. So it seems that you have the same trick as the other western china car youtubers. Comparing neweset cars with maybachs and mercedes which were engineered and developed 6-8 year ago. Just one thing: eqs still has one of the highest ranges in the market. It was engineered 5-6 years ago maybe even more. Now the latest chinese car still cant catch this no xpeng no byd not the others. Yeah there is nio with 1000km range but the charging speed is very slow. Compared to the new mma platform from merc with over 800km and charging in 15 min it also looks lost. In terms of charging speed western automakers are miles behind of Chinese companies. Zeekr cars with a 100kwh battery can charge from 10%-80% in 10 minutes with 500kw charging tech. Li auto, AITO, geely, XPeng and many others have got this tech because all the batteries are made by CATL.
