BYD & Tesla are definitely the modern day equivalents of the automobile founding companies GM & Ford. Politics and sovereign ego aside, the Chinese have earned their spot as a the major GLOBAL EV manufacturer and adapter in the world. Like it or not, China is the new GM, Ford, VW, or Toyota combined!

Can't really compare German car price with Chinese ones as when you buy a X5, its a base car and you need to pay additional 25% to spec it as comfortable as a Chinese car.

It’s no match , the level of equipment, luxury , safety , infotainment, performance, space on the YW is just ludicrous. The Mercedes just got bitch slapped by a Chinese SUV. That is a sign of legacy automakers decline into oblivion. There are so many good Chinese EVs on the mkt now , you have to be dumb to buy an ICE , especially in China. In 5 yrs Elon predicts most legacy automakers will be gone or shrunk to insignificance.

i drove mercedes and porsche for 15 years until 2020. swtich to nio es6. bought m9 last june. it is the best car ever owned. u missed most important thing. m9 drive me instead of i drive the car. used to have back pain if drive in shanghai rush hour for 90 mintes. now just sit in m9. it drives me. best auto drive system in the world. i also own model y. not there at all

Let the Chinese drive their so called quality vehicles In the rest of the world BMW and Merc will still be the benchmark. BMW and Benz have good up to date technology My be in china where quality is not important only mass production everybody will be impressed. BMW and Benz have other important markets. China is overrated.

I tried Chinese EV, and it is mind blowing. and before you say dogshit, my uncle runs BMW n Merc parts shop and service center for decades. Got rich from those. I also liked n drove BMW. this is 2024. The Chinese will leapfrog everything. so called quality? must be you are only able to buy shit quality product

There are already complaints regarding the availability of parts for Chinese vehicles There are many other high quality EVs from reputable manufactures available non Chinese.
