For me the first one has better physics but missing night mode.

I felt crazy while playing TDU2, wondering why I felt like a terrible driver, but you're right, it's far too slippery in the sequel
@Ricys9 ай бұрын
it's mine too. but the physics are attrocious. it's essentially the one huge thing about this game that they got wrong. tdu 1 physics are actually really really good, and the only reason they ever feel bad is becuase the road polygons are too low and it is jumpy sometimes due to that

Let’s aprriciate how the houses were designed and all the other aspects like the soundtracks in ur house and other buildings. We talking bout a time before GTA 5. BEFORE GTA 5!! And it still can’t beat the classyness !
@issammelzi7286 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that considering the physics and handling. Can't be the best if the handling and physics aren't good, the first tdu you can argue is the best since it handled far better. Not that tdu 2 is bad because the multiplayer features are still first in class to this day

TDU2 is one of the best video games I ever played. A game where you can just chill and drive. One of very few games that did very large maps right. It is especially fun with steering wheel and H shifter. I see that a lot of people are complaining about physics, but for me the driving component of it was very fun and hard to master, but rewarding. As for the collisions, jumps and off road driving... Yea... It was terrible, but it wasn't game braking at all. I upgraded my PC recently, and I was very sad to see that the game crashes a lot on RTX graphics cards and there currently is no way to fix it 100%...

I don't think TDU2 was a much better game like you said. The biggest issue with TDU2 was the physics which was waaaay worse than TDU1 and made it hard to enjoy playing that game. With TDU 1 Platnum mod with the hardcore handling, it's more sim-based and feels great, and let's be real 99% of the time in the game you're driving a car so as much as all the great features these games have if the driving physics aren't good it can ruin the game. Also imo the radio station wasn't any better in TDU2 either other than a couple songs that were great imo like White Lights - Me My Head and Bang Bang Bang - Sohodolls, those two songs are some of my favs in any game btw. But there were also a few great songs in TDU1 like Back Again - BoyKillBoy, Here We Go Again - Broken Dolls, Finally Free - Clearlake, and Carbon Kid - Alpinestars. Also, we can't forget the cringe-crappy story mode of TDU2. Overall it did keep most of the features of TDU1 and expanded on things like the introduction of turn signals etc, but they also took features away like the timer you could use in TDU1 to do a 0-60 run or top speed, etc. I don't know if I could personally rank one above the other. In my childhood, I'd say TDU2 because I grew up racing and cruising online with friends and random ppl but now after playing both games in modern times, I find myself playing TDU1 all the time and rarely playing TDU2 just because of the driving dynamics. Again not only are the physics bad but cars also had speed blocks lol. For example, if a car said the top speed was 187mph it would always go 191mph because that's above the 186mph speed block but below the next speed block of 191mph. That would also lead to cars in the same class with a supposed 1mph difference in top speed on paper but in reality, being much faster for example the ZR1 says it goes 205mph but because it's above the 204mph speed block it actually goes 211mph and if someone else picked a car int he same class like a Ferrari 458 which I believe said it went 204 on TDU2 then guess what, it would go 204mph since that's top of that speed block. so the ZR1 would be 7mph faster because of this lol. Not to mention the unrealisic acceleration of the cars in TDU2 how they just accelerate so fast to their top speed and then just stop as if the car is limited or something. It's just not fun when you reach top speed like it's nothing. TDU1 didn't have any of these problems. The top speed listed was actually the top speed of the cars, no speed blocks like TDU2. Acceleration was actually linear and as it reached closer to top speed it would accelerate less and struggle for the upper part of its top speed like real life. And again the driving physics was just way better. In conclusion, if you want the better driving game play TDU1 however, if you want more features and an actual story to follow so it doesn't feel empty TDU2 would be the better pick. if TDU2 just used the TDU1 physics and they worked on not making the game so cringy and have Tess saying the same lines over and over again in every race like "Everyone's here and were off" or "Steward is squabbling with the Wilder Brothers again" then TDU2 would've definitely be the better and more complete game.

This and Driveclub are gems we probably never see again which baffles me to this day. You literally have a recipe here for the game gamers want (aka easy money) and all the devs just choose to ignore it and feed us scraps. The only exception is Solar Crown, it has a potential. Let's see how it does.

I can understand those players that started the series with TDU 2 liking the sequel better being it for nostalgia or whatever. But it's beyond me how players that played the first one first still prefers the sequel. I'll assume you are more of a casual player that played it offline, or maybe you didn't played TDU 1 that much or even missed the Hardcore Mode (HC) entirely since you even failed to mentioned it while talking about the first game which is understandable to my first point since in the vanilla game you could not enter Single Player events in HC Mode. But the thing is HC Mode is what makes the first game shine at it's core making it a game changing mode showcasing its suspension simulation which is one of the best things about driving in TDU 1, how every car feels different specially if you drive without assists. Taking a car out to drive with friends never felt better. The level of simulation that HC brings feel so right. It's arcadey enough for it not to be a hardcore simulator while it simulates everything well enough for it not feel like another super arcade racing game (which it basically is if you only played it in Normal Mode). TDU 2 as a driving game failed flat as the physics are so glitchy and junky making most of the cars so unpredictable. Grip is all over the place, you either have it or you don't. Suspension simulation is a joke. No lateral G forces like most arcadey games, but worse. Once you lose control there's no coming back, basically, if you don't use assists the game is unplayable if you try to drive a faster car fast (and in some cases/cars even if you do use assists). TDU 2 was a terrible DRIVING game. It has indeed a lot of social content and it is where TDU 2 shines. Being able to walk and invite friends over to your house or meet people at dealers or the casino was definitely something unheard of in a driving game which was already revolutionary in style with the prequel. It has better shaders, or even graphics in general, but it also has a lot of missing content from the prequel. Photo Mode is very simplified, which is totally weird since the game has better graphics. A lot of little details in what the player can control/do like holding down the camera button to lock it in place (or to make them turn faster in first person while looking around), iirc there's no button to turn the engine on/off and a lot of other things that I was so fond of in the first game just to find out it's missing in the second one. My experience with TDU 2 was very frustrating and infuriating of how bad it was to drive in that game... a DRIVING game for f*ck sake. I couldn't figure it out how can they screw it up so bad since TDU 1 was so good. Again, driving in Hardcore Mode felt right. You could press [Ctrl + G] to pop up the G metter in your screen to see the physics working, suspension ondulation, tires stress, G forces... and all that can be felt while driving the car and it is so good to just take one and cruise with friends, get the pleasure of whatever you're driving. I still play TDU 1 online to this day and no other open world racing/driving game can match how TDU 1 feels imo. The game is just too good as a driving game that 16 years later there are still people playing it online today.

The only difference between the two modes in TDU1 is the gravity multiplier. Arcade mode simulates every component of the car as well but it's barely noticeable because of how slammed to the ground the cars are.

TDU2 is great BUT the physcics and drving cameras are the worst aspects of this game, almost unplayable for me, otherwise this would be my favorite racing game ever, idk why has anyone made a mod to fix these aspects.

TDU was so ahead of its time. My first experience of it was when my friend got a 360, it came pre loaded with the TDU1 demo and we spent HOURS on it. TDU2 was definitely the better game, but making money after completing it was tough. Me and a friend used to launder credits through a modded account by making races with $1m payouts and winning them on our main accounts to not get banned from XBL lmao. No open world racing game has come close to TDU since, Forza Horizon being the first one that took a load of influence from TDU with its version of FRIM, barn finds, etc. which is probably why MS left the TDU games out when it came to backwards compatibility 😂😂

It's generally not a good idea to play either TDU or TDU2 with a gamepad. Both games are designed to play with a steering wheel. While it ís possible and doable to play this game with a gamepad, most people to date who still play the game (either via the Project Paradise 2 mod or the better TDUWorld mod) use a steering wheel. I myself use both a wheel and gamepad. Depends on where I am at the moment.
