Test Drive | Yutong E9 🐸

On 14 March 2023, Leicester’s new free city centre shuttle service was launched using a fleet of Yutong E9 electric midibuses. Before the launch, we borrowed one of the smart green buses for a short test drive around Leeds. Read our verdict in issue 1568.

Quite compact but they've done a good job at making sure there's less protrusion from the wheels at the rear of the saloon. A good looking and well styled e-bus which is ideal for routes where road space is at a premium. Great overview guys!

The indicator volume can be turned down significantly from the volume levels on the video. It a great little bus

You'll be lucky to be in my yutong e13 u can't hear the indicator sound but in my yutong e12 u can hear the indicator sound u can still Hear it even when ur sitting at the back seat

If it was available in single door format, this would be a good optare/switch solo metro and diesel single deck replacement along with the Higer Steed, Mellor Sigmas 8 and 9 and the forthcoming Alexander Dennis enviro 100ev This is also a good idea for Stagecoach

The indicator noise is very annoying, I do feel sorry for the driver who has to drive this on the regular. Other than that, these seem like great midi buses.
