What was in the 1st test tube before you put the Sodium Hydroxide in? Is there any way to precipiate or remove copper from NAOH solution? I need to purify a NaOH solution which has copper in it thank you,

Copper isn't soluble in sodium hydroxide so you should be able to use filter paper and the residue would give you copper. You're welcome
