Thanks for the review. A general question, why did the voltage go down when you lowered the load? It would seem like the voltage would go up.

We actually increased the load going down in resistance. 0-1 is a direct short, so as we get closer to 0-1 ohms the harder the load is going across the unit when connected to fence & ground. So we're putting more stress on the unit as we create a more dead short to the unit. It's only because we're going across the fence and ground at the same time.

looks like a lot of grit on the case not like a new fencer however that came to be .

This wasn't a new unit. This was a unit we had in for repair for lightning damage I believe. We don't see very many of the newer Gallagher units come in for repair, so this was a test and review of the unit overall and they are still very well made inside and out.
