Great video! Thanks for the dimensions too. Weird that they put the measurement markings on the outside...someone wasn't thinking when they did that. I have a couple of questions.. How securely does the handle secure the lid? And how secure is the handle once it's opened? Aaand last question, how does it pour?

Thanks for your feedback. After years in use, I can still recommend the cook set. The outside markings don't bother at all. I never use them anyway. The handle is very secure even when the pot is full with food. The handle secures the lid well enough. There is a bit room, but it'll do the job. When I pour hot water, like after cooking pasta in water, I'll keep a bit of space between lid and pot. I don't use the holes. Cheers!

Will using this pot over a camp stove (open flame) damage it since it's stainless steel?

Maybe if it empty, but you never put an empty pot on the fire do you? It's the same with trangia if you put a empty pot on the fire, you will burn a hole in it.

What is your thought about the information found on the paper that is put INSIDE the box that the Stanley Adventure Prep & Cook Set stating the following: "Cooking over open camp fire flame is not recommended. Temperature control is difficult; this can lead to poorly prepared food and damaged pots. Never allow flames to extend beyond the bottom of pot. Doing so can damage your pot."

Susie Q in my opinion is for the newvies that have no clue about cooking on an open fire. I’ve even baked corn bread, not on this set although I’m planning to get but on another stainless steel one and my Firebox, ( open fire) delicious.

i do like the cutting board and the spoon/spatula set up though, when i do take my stanley i usually just take the one cup i may have to snag this cook set though, the pot alone is worth it.

Arctic Gator I use the Stanley set when I go out camping alone. Another set I use when I do a camping trip with my girlfriend is the Bugaboo from GSI which offers more varieties in preparing meals.
